Madonna has gained some royal approval in the form of Princess Michael of Kent.
The two met when Madonna was doing research for her debut film as a director about Wallis Simpson.
Princess Michael said: “I found Madonna rather pleasant. My husband had no interest in meeting her. He is not one for showbusiness.”
The royal couple met Wallis in her later years, although Princess Michael was unable to provide Madonna with much information.
“The Duchess was too frail for tittle-tattle by the time I got to meet her. I did tell [Madonna] Wallis was one of those woman who stopped the traffic.
“She was a marvel – not unlike Madonna herself!”

    Black Swan
According to website showbiz411, Madonna went to see “Black Swan” in the Hamptons…
Madonna–perhaps in the middle of editing her feature film, “W.E”–surprised the Hamptons Film Festival audience and went to see Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan” Sunday night. She turned up at the 9:15pm screening at the East Hampton UA Theater. Harvey Weinstein, James Franco, and Bob and Lynn Balaban were also supposedly in the room. “Black Swan” stars Natalie Portman. Madonna is apparently interested in working with Aronofsky on something…
    Royal advice?
According to The Sun, Madonna has reportedly been getting some royal advice to help her direct her new film W.E. She apparently wrote to the UK’s royal family asking them to help her get her retelling of King Edward VIII’s romance with US divorcée Wallis Simpson just right. Prince Edward and Princess Michael of Kent supposedly rushed to help the singer, but some of the higher royals refused her request.
A source told the UK newspaper: ‘The entire royal family were contacted and asked if they would like to meet Madonna and production staff – and many took up the opportunity. Some senior figures turned it down. But others, including Princess Michael of Kent, Prince Edward and the Gloucesters, jumped at the chance.’
    The ruling
More news on Madonna’s stalker, Robert Linhart…
The judge finally released the 59 year old on $20,000 bail on the condition that he stays at least 10 blocks away from the Material Girl’s property near Central Park.
    Back to London?
Rumour has it that Madonna plans to move back to the UK.
Apparently she intends to head back to Britain because she “feels her heart is” in the country, but she will have to apply to move back as she is no longer married to a UK citizen.
According to a source, “Madonna has loved being back in the States since the divorce but England is where she feels her heart is now. She is deliberately focusing on work that will keep her in Britain. She has had meetings with her London legal team, Mischon de Reya, to arrange a visa that will enable her to move back for good. Now that she is no longer a British citizen by virtue of being married to Guy, she is having to apply like everyone else. The other children will automatically gain visas as Madonna’s dependents as long as she can get past the paperwork. The past couple of years have been the breath of fresh air Madonna needed after her divorce, but she is now ready to embrace the British lifestyle again.”
Of course, we don’t believe a word this so-called source says…

Movie director David Fincher recently admitted that making videoclips in his early years, really helped him in his incredibly succesful career.
Fincher directed many Madonna videos including Vogue, Express Yourself and Oh Father…
He also directed clips for The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith or George Michael, but he seems to have a special bond with the Queen of Pop…

American pop diva Madonna‘s stalker has been ordered to stay at least 10 blocks away from her house.
Robert Linhart was arrested last month for scrawling messages outside her New York home, reports dailystar.co.uk. Few of the messages read – ‘Meet me please’ and ‘Tell me, yes or no’.
The 59-year-old former fireman was charged with criminal mischief, graffiti and possession of an icepick. He was later released on bail of $19,075 after he denied resisting arrest and weapons possession.
‘A condition of his release will be that he not be within 10 city blocks of Madonna’s address on Central Park West,’ said Laura Ward, Manhattan Supreme Court judge.

madonnalicious reader John had the opportunity to watch Madonna at work directing W.E. in New York City last month. Here is his story and the first part of his pictures: I wanted to share with readers of Madonnalicious, my Madonna moment in NY.
I was travelling in the U.S and happened to be in NY at the same time that Madonna was. At the time I knew about her upcoming Macy's appearance and was sorry that she was going to be there....when I would be in L.A sadly leaving the day earlier.
So I made it my mission after a few failed attempts of going to Sotheby's and cold leads on Twitter, I finally managed to get assistance from someone at on location tours who said she would filming the last day of W.E in the park.
Seeing Madonna twice in concert over the years and having a major obsession with her since 1984, I wasn't going to let this opportunity go by, so got to Central Park early watched the film crews set up and get ready for an obvious film scene. So I knew she would have to be where the action was at....so waited!
Then a few hours later....Madonna arrives on set with Paparazzi and a few devoted fans (me being one of them) I must say not a huge crowd I think because it was secluded in the park and word didn't get around....good for me.
So as you can see from the photo's she was in 4 feet of me at times. I had to stop clicking photos sometimes and take it in with my own eyes that she was really there, not performing, not on tv, but wearing the different hat of directing without make up and designer clothes looking natural and stunning at 52!
So I must say it was a huge highlight for me to spend 4 and a half hours watching her do her thing and also see how a movie is made too which was cool.
When she was leaving with her bodyguards after filming all day, I said 'Love your work Madonna' and she says 'Yeah!'

October 7th, 2010 Lil Wayne in good spirits, joking about Madonna
Rapper Lil Wayne is finally set to be released from jail on the 4th of November, and he’s already starting to organize plans for the following weekend.  MTV recently broadcasted a phone call  that they had with Wayne, in which they talked to him about a concert that’s being planned in his honor.  Wayne was asked which music act he’d like to see performing at that concert, and without missing a beat he replied, “Madonna,” and then laughed and said he was joking.
Fergie thinks Cheryl Cole can be as big as Madonna…
Black Eyed Peas leading lady Fergie has revealed that she thinks Cheryl Cole could become so famous, she could ‘rule the world.’
“She is such a good friend. But I don’t think she has quite got her head around how big she is going to be. My girl really can rule the world. I have already heard crazy things like Robert De Niro wants to make movies with her and that Jay-Z wants to work with her.
Within five years we could be talking about Cheryl on the same level as we go Madonna or Mariah Carey.”
    Macy’s sees 4.8% Sept. same-store sales gain
This year’s back-to-school season was one of the best in years for Macy’s Inc., sending same-store sales up 4.8 percent in September.
Same-store sales are sales at stores open at least a year. Total sales at Cincinnati-based Macy’s (NYSE:M) rose 6.9 percent in September to $2.18 billion from $2.04 billion in the same period a year ago.
CEO Terry Lundgren said in a press release that the successful back-to-school season was helped by strong results from its new juniors line from Madonna and its American Rag private brand. The company also launched Kenneth Cole Reaction men’s sportswear brand and will soon roll out an exclusive Sean John men’s sportswear line as well.
So far this year, total sales are up 7 percent to $14.9 billion. Same-store sales are up 5 percent. Macy’s online sales are up 29 percent in September and about 30 percent year to date, the company said.

    Stalker… or not
Crazed Madonna fan Robert Linhart cleared of stalking charges, indicted for weapons possession
Robert Linhart, 59, was arrested twice outside her Central Park West pad last month for making graffiti, resisting arrest, and having a gravity knife, an ice pick and a billy club, according to court records.
Linhart’s lawyer, Justine Luongo, claimed that because the grand jury was only asked to consider a weapons rap, prosecutors had effectively dropped all charges related to Madonna.
Prosecutors said that even though Linhart declared he wasn’t going to stop until he met Madonna, the case does not rely any perceived threat to her.

madonnalicious reader Giel visited Milan's Malpensa airport earlier this month and took some pictures of the huge Madonna advertising billboards on display there: At the entrance there are giant pictures of Madonna displayed from the latest D&G campaign - to get a feeling of how big they are you can see the information monitors above the photo display.
At the end of the hall is another giant Madonna photo from the MDG sunglasses campaign. Truly stunning to see, worth a visit to the airport.
Maybe they should rename the airport in Milan Madonna airport!

Glee star Jane Lynch has revealed that her performance of Madonna’s song Vogue was an experience she will never forget.
Lynch recorded the track and recreated its iconic video for the Madonna-themed episode in the show’s first season.
She told Irish TV channel RTÉ Ten…
“Making that Madonna video was such a labour of love and probably a highlight in my life that I’ll always look back on.
I know it was Ryan Murphy’s dream come true to make that and everyone worked so hard on the video – we had more production meetings for that particular number than anything else in Glee.
We started working on it last December, all through Christmas and didn’t shoot it until March. It took me every day to get those dance moves right.
I understand that she released a statement saying she was very happy with the whole episode and so she should be, it was homage to her.”

After a 15-year period away from the music business Adam Ant recently gave an interview to thequietus.com.
He mentions Madonna in the process…
“There’d be no Gaga without Madonna so let’s put it in ***CENSORED*** perspective…
Lady Gaga is good, but Madge was doing that when I was doing it, you know?
I saw Madonna outside the Music Machine before she even made it. I was doing a gig with the band in like ’79. There was this chick outside from New York going ‘I’m going to be a star’ and it was her!
And she’s got some ***CENSORED*** balls you know? She’s done as much as Dietrich did for ***CENSORED*** Hollywood stars. She’s gone in and said ‘Alright. I’ve been raped. Someone ***CENSORED*** stuck his dick in my gob in a back alley. I got up from that and I went in there and I had a big fight. And I won.’ She ***CENSORED*** won, good luck to the woman. You know?
And Gaga, great. Nice girl. What can I say. Because I know how hard it is to dress different every time. I do try to wear something different at all those gigs you see me at, but it’s hard. You’ve got to buy something every ***CENSORED*** day. I understand Gaga because she’s intelligent, good media worker, very good songwriter – almost kind of classical. She interests me. But Lily Allen is the best ***CENSORED*** lyricist in the last decade.”

madonnalicious reader Denise attended the 25th Anniversary Screening of Desperately Seeking Susan that took place on Thursday 23 September: Last week I attended a 25th Anniversary Screening of Desperately Seeking Susan at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center.
There was a panel discussion afterwards with a short Q & A. The attendees included Susan Seidelman, Rosanna Arquette, Aidan Quinn, Mark Blum and some producers. There were also some of the minor characters in the audience like the Love Saves the Day clerk, Chrystal (Madonna's friend), Ian the magician and the bellhop from Atlantic City.
The highlight for me was hearing bits about Madonna. Mark Blum remarked about how during his screen test with her (they did the scene from Danceteria) she started licking and kissing his face. Susan Seidelman said to Mark after this: 'Madonna likes you!'
Also, Rosanna said she became close with Madonna during filming, even though they only had one scene together, and Madonna would come to her hotel room at 3:00am to visit. The first time Rosanna saw Madonna was in the Lucky Star video and she wondered 'who is this girl?'
Also the first time Mark Blum saw Madonna he thought she was a bike messenger because she was wearing biker shorts and had a bandana in her hair!
One interesting fact was the studio didn't want Madonna for the role, instead they wanted Ellen Barkin.
The first picture shows Rosanna Arquette, Aidan Quinn and Mark Blum and the second shows Susan Seidelman and two other producers.

Madonna's first born doesn't have any blonde ambitions!
At Wednesday's Material Girl Collection launch at Macy's in NYC, Lourdes Leon Ciccone told UsMagazine.com that she's 'allowed' to start dyeing her hair when she turns 14 next month - but the natural brunette's not interested in her mother's most famous hue.
'I wouldn't go blonde,' Lourdes told reporters.
'I'd like to do a darker color - a really dark, dark red,' she explained.
Although she's granted Lourdes permission, Madonna, 52, isn't thrilled about her eldest's upcoming experiments with hair color. 'Once you start dyeing your hair that's it,' the singer (who should know!) said. 'You have to keep dyeing it.'
Another milestone for Lourdes: She just started attending New York's LaGuardia High School. 'I love it!' Lourdes told Us. 'It's amazing!'
The famous mom and daughter collaborated on the Material Girl line. 'She has a very good sense of what works and what doesn't,' Madonna said. 'She has really great sense of style. She pretty much ran all of the meetings while I was doing other things!'
Madonna's hard-and-fast rules for parenting? 'I think it just requires a lot of time and effort and paying attention,' Madonna told Us. The singer has three other kids: Rocco, her 10-year-old son with ex husband Guy Richie, plus son David and daughter Mercy, both adopted from the African nation of Malawi.
