    From MTV
MTV.com recently posted an article on their Wake-Up Video section titled “Madonna Gets Kinky With Erotica”…
For any artist who came to prominence during the 1980s, the ’90s were a little bit weird. The music world was rapidly evolving, and the evolutions of different formats, the introduction of new sounds and the beginnings of the Internet all had a profound effect on how top stars operated. U2 had a pretty weird decade that saw them go off the art rock deep end and dabble in disco. Madonna stretched herself even further, starring in a lavish movie musical, releasing scary concept albums about nightmares, exploring the outer reaches of dance music and, on this day in 1992, dropping Erotica, a concept album about how kinky it is inside Madonna’s head.
Erotica was released during a tumultuous time in Madonna’s career. It was released alongside a coffee table book called Sex that delved deeper into the singer’s fantasies and desires and featured a batch of softcore photos of Isabella Rossellini, Big Daddy Kane, Vanilla Ice, Naomi Campbell and Madonna herself (in addition to a handful of lovely but anonymous nude models). These projects completed a trifecta that had begun in 1991 with the release of the hit tour documentary “Truth or Dare,” which saw the Material Girl evolving from the cheeky suggestiveness of her early work into a more in-your-face, confrontational performer who wasn’t going to shy away from her darkest, most twisted sexual urges. She caused quite a stir in ’92, and it represented her first real reinvention (a process she has gone through multiple times throughout her long and fruitful career).
Because the content is so obsessed with sex, the music on Erotica often gets short shrift, but it’s one of the strongest albums of Madonna’s career. The tracks — most of which were co-produced by Madonna and house music pioneer Shep Pettibone — cherry-pick elements from classic disco, modern house, techno and the ever-evolving New Jack Swing sound for a tough, rugged batch of tracks (though Erotica does leave behind the sugary melodies of Madonna’s early work, which is probably why the singles from the album were not as big). The title track remains an important entry in Madonna’s catalog, and the video (directed by fashion photographer Fabien Baron and clearly borrowing heavily from Andy Warhol) still feels controversial all these years later.

Back to Malawi with Bono… Fake!
Rumour has it Madonna is planning to return to Malawi next week in the company of fellow star Bono, but a U2 spokesperson tells that this story is incorrect; Bono will not be visiting Africa with Madonna.
    Info on Madonna’s Music single
From Paul Grein’s Yahoo! column: Two physical singles sold more than 1 million copies in the US, during 2000: Madonna’s “Music” and Santana’s “Maria Maria”.
No physical singles hit the 1 million mark after that.
    Madonna’s Beauty Secrets Revealed

Maggie Gyllenhaal was recently invited on The Graham Norton Show where she talked about her upcoming movie and dancing with Madonna. A very cute interview!
Here’s what she had to say…
Maggie Gyllenhaal: Yes, I danced with Madonna.
That’s what I hear. So how does that… Did you ask her? Did she ask you?
Maggie Gyllenhaal: I’m 32. I was like 8-9 when she was like-a-virgin-ing and doing all that. I was crazy about her. Somebody came up to me – this was like at the fourth party, at 4 o’clock in the morning – and said “Do you want to meet Madonna?” And I was like “Yes”. She was wearing a hat and looking super hot. She didn’t even say hi. She kinda like nodded at me and started dancing.
Well that’s creepy. Just nodding, not even a hello?
Maggie Gyllenhaal: It was not creepy. It was something else. It worked. Madonna can do things that no one else can do.
    So she’s nodding and dancing?
Maggie Gyllenhaal: So she gets up and starts dancing and I’m drunk enough, that I’m just going with it. She’s like a crazy good dancer. I danced with her for 30 seconds or something and then she just lost me. She started dancing with other people. Two girlfriends were with me that night, then ran over and were like “You were just dancing with Madonna…”. We were talking about for a minute, we look over and my husband is totally dancing with Madonna, tottaly handeling it and way better than I did. I kinda thought “What’s better than that?”

    October 16th, 2010 A Grammy?
Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour has been submitted for a 2011 Grammy nomination in the Category Best Long Form Music Video…
    New boyfriend?
According to the NY Post’s Page Six, Brahim Rachiki, a thirty-three year-old choreographer, is now dating Madonna.
The two met when Rachiki choreographed Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” tour, and since Jesus Luz is allegedly out of the picture, Rachiki and Madonna have already been spotted making out in public on many occasions (photos anyone?).
According to X17 Online, all the websites spreading the rumours have it wrong. Madonna would actually be dating a different backup dancer with the same first name — she’s been seeing the much younger Brahim Zaibat, a French b-boy dancer from Lyon. Friday night, they apparently went to the IFC theater in New York to see the French film Carlos by Olivier Assayas, which is a two-part mini-series about a Venezuelan terrorist.
    Here’s some pics…

    Graham Norton still wants Madonna
As Graham Norton is now replacing Jonathan Ross on the “Friday Night” BBC show, he gave an interview to the Daily Mail talking about his dream guest…
“Well, I’d happily invite back Dolly Parton, Cher and Glenn Close.
And I’ve long been pursuing Bette Midler, which I think will happen.’
But top of the list remains Madonna.
    We’d give her a special.
A friend of mine has recently become a sort of friend of hers. And he says she does quite a good impression of a normal person, given how Billy Bonkers she has a right to be.”
    Madonna for £1
Rob Dickins, a former head of Warner Music, who oversaw acts like Madonna and R.E.M, has called for album prices to be cut to around £1. “To a degree it solves piracy because if it’s such a small amount people are more likely to pay it than [download for] free,” he said at music conference In The City in Manchester.

Back in 1984, famous French photographer Tony Frank did a photoshoot with Madonna.
Theses days he’s giving interviews promoting the release of his book on french singer Johnny Hallyday…
When asked who was the biggest star he ever photographed, he says…
More than meeting stars, I’m having encounters I remember most.
I remember meeting Madonna in Morroco.
She was very angry because her car stopped running in the middle of the road, and I thought to myself that she would be a pain in the ass to deal with.
But then I realized she was just like any other human beings.
It was all after a long journey by plane, then by car, and then having her car dying in the middle of the Morrocan road…
I mean, I think she was very human, and we would all have had the same reaction.

Judging by the following letter, Madonna wasn’t exactly thrilled when filming A League of Their Own back in 1991. Writing to friend and photographer Steven Meisel – the man with whom Madonna later worked on Sex, the highly controversial book also mentioned in closing – the frustrated entertainer bemoans the lack of “beautiful men” in the city of Chicago, makes known her apparent hatred of all actresses, and calls Geena Davis a “Barbie doll”.

    Transcript:
    Dear Steven
For some reason I thought you were angry with me – because I finked out as a judge at the “Lone Ball”? Because I’m still nice to Herb Ritts?? Because my hair is the wrong color? I hope you will forgive me for all of the above. Because I cannot suffer any more than I have in the past month learning how to play baseball with a bunch of girls (yuk) in Chicago (double yuk) I have a tan, I am dirty all day and I hardly ever wear make-up. Penny Marshall is Lavern – Geena Davis is a Barbie doll and when God decided where the beautiful men were going to live in the world, he did not choose Chicago. I have made a few friends but they are athletes, not actresses. I hate actresses, they have nothing on the house of extravaganza. I wish I could come to N.Y and visit. Are you having a good Summer? Saw the piece in the N.Y Times Magazine. Great!! – I would love to do this book thing with you so lets talk soon.
    THANKS ALOT STEVEN!!
    Love,
    Dita

Justin Timberlake mentioned Madonna in his latest interview about his latest film, The Social Network, for Metro…
“She’s the most stubborn woman in the world. As a woman, she’s the highest in stubbornness. But she’s very smart and incredibly cerebral. And I think that’s why she’s been able to change her style and image so much. Her music pays attention to what people are thinking.”

Rock band Semi Precious Weapons have been supporting Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour for the better part of this year
The band (frontman Justin Tranter, bassist Cole Whittle, drummer Dan Crean and guitarist Stevy Pyne) gave an interview to Jon Chattman for the Huffington Post and here what they had to say about Madonna…
Jon Chattman: Your connection with Gaga is obvious, but what about another New Yok icon, what’s your take on Madonna?
Semi Precious Weapons: I think she’s a genius. How could she not be?
Jon Chattman: Did you ever meet her?
Semi Precious Weapons: Yeah I met her very very briefly at a Gaga show.
Jon Chattman: Cold, down to earth, intimidated?
Semi Precious Weapons: Not intimidating at all. I just shook her hand and said hi. That’s not really meeting, but I stood next to her watching Gaga’s show and this was about a year and a half ago. Right when Gaga was breaking. She wasn’t even the massive force she is now. She was just a girl with two hit songs and Madonna was in it. So, that was pretty amazing.
