Music I can dance to. I’m on the look out for the maddest, sickest, most bad ass people to collaborate with. I’m just saying……” – Madonna
  5. The solar eclipse in Capricorn, due January 4, will offer you a glittering array of opportunities to make your life feel fresher and more relevant to the more mature you that you've become. You had little choice but to listen to quite a bit advice from various sources over the past 18 months, but this month, birthday time, you have the Sun protecting you, so you will get to speak your mind clearly and confidently. You will also have the comforting assurance that others will be listening and responding to your thoughts, and you won't have to compromise as much as you have had to do in the past. Rather than have to dilute your plans, you can push your ideas through in purest form. Through all your trials, you may have underestimated the strength of your character, but you soon found out you would never topple in a storm. Your courage certainly has inspired admiration from those around you. You've been in the valley, climbed the mountain, kayaked the rapids, crossed the ravine, and survived the desert. All this happened in the past 18 months, and not only are you still standing, you feel like Jack the Giant Killer! Now, having proven you can endure the gauntlet, relief is on the way with the arrival of the solar eclipse, January 4. This eclipse will show you that not all eclipses are tough - some bring rewards. Sometimes an eclipse will ask you to give up something in exchange for something else, but even if that should happen (I don't think it will, but if it does), know that the something better is on the way, and it will make you very happy. As you stand poised to enter 2011, you are looking at a vastly improved picture. New moon solar eclipses, like this one due January 4, open doors and bring up surprise developments that can be intriguing and exciting. Be sure to investigate all the proposals that are offered you, for one will likely stand out as especially right for you. As you begin the month, your first house of personality will be packed with planets, and that's great, for that house is considered the most powerful house of the horoscope. That house describes the real "you" including your personality, outlook, drive, determination, and desires, and those will take top billing. Among the planets in the first house is Mars, now in Capricorn, and because Mars will be so close to the eclipse point tells me that you won't have to wait long before you see things happen. Mars is like the gas on the stove that you switch on to get things cooking - Mars is busy preparing things now! Fortunately Mars will be with you until January 15. This will give you an enormous advantage, for when Mars comes by, he helps you start a new and vital two-year cycle. When you have Mars in your sign, you have another benefit in that you can direct Mars' energy in any way you please, into any area of life. Usually that is not the case, but is possible ONLY when Mars is in your own sign of Capricorn as it will be from January 1 to 15. These days, you are the leader of the parade. If you know the childhood game of Simple Simon ("When I do something, you have to mirror exactly what I do,") then you know how powerful this phase can be. You've been anxious to set certain personal plans into place since early December, but with Mars' friend, Mercury, creating havoc, confusion, reversals, and delays last month, it was no time to set anything in stone. Mercury was retrograde, so you quickly saw you had little choice but to wait. On December 30, Mercury regulated its orbit and went direct speed, and he will stay in strong shape during the coming three months. Now, at last, all the pieces of your puzzle are falling into place. You are in an enviable position. Along with Mars, you have the Sun and new moon solar eclipse on January 4, and Pluto, the planet of transformation and regeneration, all in Capricorn. That's a lot of energy to have supporting you, and so you'll have control and clout. Saturn may set up an obstacle at this eclipse, January 4, so you may be trying to sort out a career question that has been gnawing at you for a while. While you may be stymied, I feel your situation will gradually improve, but the caveat is that you must take steps - even if they are baby steps - to move to a new direction. The old methods won't work well now, for the times have changed. Saturn's appearance always suggests that we have to try new strategies and tactics to get ahead. If you were born on January 4, plus or minus four days, you will feel the affects of this eclipse the most. There will also be another very special aspect happening separately on January 4, involving a rare and magnificent meeting of Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, and Uranus planet of surprise. Jupiter is getting ready to leave Pisces after having spent the better part of 2010 in that constellation. At the eclipse he will only have two weeks left in Pisces, so he is making his goodbyes to all the other planets. Uranus has been in Pisces too, and he has been in this sign even longer, since 2003. Uranus is packing his bags too, and will make his departure in early March. These two dignitaries will not be seen together again in Pisces in your lifetime, for Uranus takes 84 years to revolve around the Sun (and return to Pisces) and Jupiter takes 12 years to make the same journey. The next time they meet, it will be in Taurus in April 2024. They will not meet in Pisces, however, until 2093. Before these two powerhouses make their exit from Pisces, they are planning a big blowout party for you, and the happy fireworks they are planning will light up the night sky. On January 4, when Uranus (surprises) aligns perfectly with Jupiter (giver of gifts, luck, happiness, and expansion) in an exceedingly rare conjunction, while both are moving in direct speed, they can and will bring you much to celebrate. I will give you some possible examples of outcomes. Jupiter and Uranus will meet in your third house of communication, travel, and agreement on that day of January 4, so this is the area that will be special for you. You may see several of types of opportunities come up, and you may benefit from one or more of these areas, as they are not mutually exclusive! The first possibility is that you may travel spontaneously, perhaps for business. I say that because whenever Jupiter is involved, money seems to follow. If you travel to see a client near January 4, you will likely come back with the purchase order. If you are traveling for fun or to have a romantic getaway with your beloved, it looks as though you will be in a luxury-minded mood. Good! That's as it should be! Choose an old, beautiful estate or historic hotel (Capricorn) that is near mountains (Capricorn) and overlooking water (Pisces). You may be asked to sign a contract in January, and if so, generally, you would like the terms of the deal. If you do need to sign, look things over, consult an attorney, and be ready to sign on January 13 when Mars in Capricorn will be in perfect angle to Jupiter. You would hear about the contract, however, earlier, near January 4. I would not sign directly on an eclipse date, however, as that day is usually filled with static, and the eclipse will bring further news in the days to follow. Wait if you can, until January 13. One very bad time to sign a contract would be January 10, plus or minus one day, when Mercury will be arguing with Uranus. I can think of no worse day to sign! Any industry that deals with communication will glow brightly. You may be given the green light on a big publishing, Internet, or broadcasting venture, and if so, that would be exciting to get involved in. All of the communication arts are being called into play by this outstanding aspect involving Jupiter and Uranus. Included, for example, are positions or assignments involving writing, speaking, editing, proofing, researching, selling, marketing, public relations, or advertising. If any of these fit your plans, dive in! This means if you've always wanted to write a book or sell a screenplay, have your own TV show, or launch a big publicity campaign, see if you can arrange meetings or send proposals soon. If you are already approved to lift off, be confident, for you've got the support of a whole solar system behind you. The third house rules siblings, so keep up with your sister and brother during this month - they may have news to share. If you are hoping to create a business with your sibling, buy property, or do anything else with your brother or sister, such as to plan a surprise party for your parents, it will be under wildly wonderful vibrations. Keep in mind that whenever you see Uranus involved, there is a surprise twist. Whatever you THINK will happen won't - something else will! The outcome is always something you're not looking at and would least expect, but in this case is far better than anything you thought would happen. Your partner will be highlighted later, at the full moon, January 19. While you may have had problems with a partner in the past (in your personal life or in business, such as a manager, agent, or full business partner) you won't have any problems now - only luck! This full moon will be filled with sunshine! The reason I say that is the Sun and Jupiter will be at perfect angles, suggesting you may get a sum of money at this time, within four days of the full moon. The closer your birthday falls to January 19 (within four days), the more likely you will feel the effects of this lovely full moon. It would be lovely if you did get a sum of cash in one lump, as Mars will enter your income and spending sector (solar second house) from January 15 to February 22. When Mars arrives, it appears your expenses will almost instantly rise. Perhaps you WILL get the money I see coming to you earlier in the month, near the eclipse of January 4, the reason you may be spending a significant amount later. Topping your list of things to buy soon seems to be something electronic, and I say that because of planets beginning to stack up in Aquarius, a sign that rules electrical, futuristic inventions. If you can wait until Mercury reaches the mathematical degree it held on the date it went retrograde on December 10, things will go better - that date to start shopping for high-ticket items would be January 13. Or, even better, later you may consider going to make your purchase on January 17 or 19. I love January 17 for shopping for electronics because the Sun and Uranus will collaborate brilliantly. Uranus rules high tech, electronics, or anything electrical or with moving parts, so this would be a perfect day. The full moon of January 19 is just wonderful too, so you can use that date as well. On the other hand, if you are a Mac addict like I am, you will need to wait for the announcements of Steve Jobs at MacWorld, January 26-29. In that case, waiting for the glorious new moon in Aquarius, February 2, would be best of all. A rather unusual circumstance is going on in January in that every planet in our solar system is going direct from January 1 to 25. I have not seen such a long and productive period at play in years. Actually, some years you don't get even one day when ALL the planets are going direct. The big outer planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto go retrograde for more than four months at a time straight, so right there you see how hard it is to find any dates as special as what is happening in January. Once you get to January 26, Saturn, your ruler, will go retrograde until June 12. Once this happens, you won't find that you have the same kind of favor, and things will be harder to get your way. Having your ruler in top form is very important for success. It's essential that you seal deals early in January - I would say you should aim for a finish by the full moon, January 19, plus or minus three days, which will be such a sweet moment for you this month. When any planet retrogrades, it becomes weak. It sleeps, and it withholds its most potent powers. That's why when choosing a day to initiate a big project, it's necessary to get a day that has as much strength to offer as possible. There is more big news, and it involves the move of Jupiter into Aries on January 22, to stay until June 4. This may be a short window of opportunity, but wow, is it powerful. Jupiter will not go retrograde at all during this phase, and with Jupiter moving as fast as a speeding bullet, you will have to be very decisive when the perfect space comes up, or it will be gone as fast as you find it. On the other hand, do not settle for anything less than what you truly want, for you need not settle. This is your best part of your chart! If you are hoping to sell a space or house, then do so after January 22. You will likely get your price. You will feel the full force of this aspect in coming weeks and months, particularly in April and May, but you can take full advantage of it whenever you like! Jupiter in Aries will help you find a wonderful home residence solution, whether you want to move, buy new property, or renovate or decorate your present space. (I will add that Mercury will be retrograde from March 30 to April 23, not the time to make any big initiatives!) This is the area where wishes will come true, so realize this is the very best part of your chart! If you move, you will find a sunny, spacious place to live, but you can find lovely ways to use this on a small scale, too. You and I will talk more about this in weeks ahead, but you can start thinking now of how you'd like to use this. In terms of your career, with Jupiter in the fourth house of home, opposite your career and honors sector on the horoscope wheel, beaming energy to your career house, you will get some good energy from Jupiter to help you in your career. Ever since Saturn entered your professional tenth house October 29, 2009, to stay until April 7, 2010, and then returned for a longer stay, July 21, 2010, and is not scheduled to leave until October 4, 2011, you were forced to think about the changes you want to make to improve to your professional status. Jupiter will help you by pinging energy straight up to your career house, as this is what often happens when you have planets positioned as you do. Energy pings back and forth between the two houses. You won't notice much change until Jupiter moves into your house of home on January 22. You should see some important improvement as soon as late April, after the full moon, and after Mercury goes direct, April 23. You have had a hard time, but help is on the way. Romantically, your most enchanting part of the month for love will be when Venus tours Scorpio, a water sign that blends beautifully with your Capricorn Sun. Venus will only be in that sign for six full days, January 1 to 6, as it had glided through this sign in December, too. Your best romantic experiences will be those you have when on a short trip. You need not go far, nor do you need to stay long. If you are on a budget, stay only one night, but you should choose a really charming bed and breakfast or very old and historic hotel, as I had described earlier. You will want a touch of luxury and pampering, and considering the past 18 months, I feel you deserve it! The magical and enchanting meeting of Jupiter and Uranus will take place January 4, getting my vote for the most romantic day in the month. If you can travel, so much the better, but if not, send a romantic text to your beloved, at the very least. Summary A new day is dawning, dear Capricorn. It's time to decide what you want to happen next in your life, for the solar eclipse of January 4 in Capricorn will help you put the pieces of your puzzle in place. You've been through quite a number of eclipses last year and the year before that, and since July 2009 you've seen your life change, possibly radically. With this eclipse, you will see your talents and abilities in daylight and can plan your new life with greater certainty. Your career may be on your mind now too, and you may have to plot a new course in the light of changes that occurred as far back as mid-2009. It's never too late to start anew, so forge ahead with a spirit of adventure. Keep in mind that your ruler, Saturn, is about to retrograde from January 26 onward. Complete the plans that are dearest to you now while your aspects sparkle brightly. After January 26, you will need to concentrate on projects you have already put on your plate, and not new ventures. This will be true until Saturn goes direct on June 13. If there is someone new you need to present an idea to, hurry! See that person VERY soon! A surprise trip may come up on January 4, 12, 13, or 17. Alternatively, you may receive an important communication to read or contract to study. You may also be sending out key documents. Anything that comes up near an eclipse (January 4) has greater import than at other times of the year, so take all the offers you get seriously and investigate the details. Those Capricorns born in the first week of January and near January 19 will be the most affected by events this month. Financially, you appear to be going into a high spending period from January 15 to February 23. If you are going through a lifestyle change, such as to get married, buy a new house, move, start a business, or have a child, you already expect to spend more than usual. If you have no idea what expenses may come up, you may want to scale back until this phase is over. You will have one sensational financial day, January 17, when you may hit a breakthrough when you least expect it to happen. Romantically, your best time of the month will come in the first week of January, when Venus, ruler of your fifth house of love, will be in compatible Scorpio. If single, your friends will be willing matchmakers but you must enlist them to your cause. If you are attached, you will get the closure about an issue you've discussed with your partner within days of January 19. Although your relationship seems not to have always gone smoothly in the past, this full moon will be friendly, so you will probably be happy about the way things turn out. Capricorn Dates to Note: The solar eclipse will allow a new road to open before you, and you will now begin to see yourself in a new light. Pay special attention to all that happens in the days clustered after January 4. If your birthday falls near that date, you will find your whole year is filled with fresh starts. Spend time thinking about the next steps you want to take in your career. This is the area of greatest change, as well as greatest potential growth. Adjustments may be hard at times, but well worth the effort if you are earnest in your intent. Spontaneous travel is one of the happy features of January. When opportunity strikes on January 4, 12, 13, or 17 - go! You will enter a high spending period while Mars enters Aquarius, January 15 to February 23. Good financial news should come January 17, out of thin air! Your ruler, Saturn, will go retrograde on January 26. Get all-important business done prior to this date. A relationship will culminate or bring closure on January 19, plus or minus four days. Your most romantic dates will occur in the first week, January 1-7. Other good days will occur on January 8-9, 12, 13, 14, 17, 21, 22, and 25. By Susan Miller
  6. The word is from Old English godsibb, from god and sibb, the term for godparents, i.e. a child's godfather or godmother. In the 16th century, the word assumed the meaning of a person, mostly a woman, one who delights in idle talk, a newsmonger, a tattler. In the early 19th century, the term was extended from the talker to the conversation of such persons. The verb to gossip, meaning "to be a gossip", first appears in Shakespeare. Gossip can serve to: * reinforce, and punish the lack of, morality and accountability * be used as a form of passive aggression, to isolate and harm others * build a place for social grooming and a sense of community with shared interests, information and values * provide a courtship that helps one find decide on their desired mate, by counseling others * provide a peer-to-peer mechanism for disseminating information in organizations A feminist definition of gossip presents it as "a way of talking between women, intimate in style, personal and domestic in scope and setting, a female cultural event which springs from and perpetuates the restrictions of the female role, but also gives the comfort of validation." (Jones, 1990:243) Gossip in Judaism Main article: Lashon hara Judaism considers gossip spoken without a constructive purpose (known in Hebrew as lashon hara) as a sin. Speaking negatively about people, even if retelling true facts, counts as sinful, as it demeans the dignity of man — both the speaker and the subject of the gossip. According to Proverbs 18:8: "The words of a gossip are like choice morsels: they go down to a man's innermost parts." Gossip in Islam Islam considers backbiting the equivalent of eating the flesh of one's dead brother. According to Muslims, backbiting harms its victims without offering them any chance of defence, just as dead people cannot defend against their flesh being eaten. Muslims are expected to treat each other like brothers, deriving from Islam's concept of brotherhood amongst its believers. Gossip in Christianity The Epistle to the Romans associates gossips ("backbiters") with a list of sins including sexual immorality and with murder: 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:28-32) Jesus also taught, in Matthew 18, that conflict resolution among church members ought to begin with the aggrieved party attempting to resolve their dispute with the offending party alone. Only if this did not work would the process escalate to the next step, in which another church member would become involved. After that if the person at fault still would not "hear", the matter was to be fully investigated by the church elders. At no time did Jesus authorize exposing faults to anyone else. This process is meant to encourage Christians to get along, overlook offenses and if possible, work things out directly between the two parties involved. Since "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), Christians are called to loving forgiveness and the spread of positive information rather than evil gossip that destroys relationships. In order to gossip, writes Phil Fox Rose, we "must harden our heart towards the 'out' person. We draw a line between ourselves and them; define them as being outside the rules of Christian charity... We create a gap between ourselves and God's Love." As we harden our heart towards more people and groups, he continues, "this negativity and feeling of separateness will grow and permeate our world, and we'll find it more difficult to access God’s love in any aspect of our lives." Gossip is idle talk or rumour, especially about the personal or private affairs of others. It forms one of the oldest and most common means of sharing (unproven) facts and views, but also has a reputation for the introduction of errors and other variations into the information transmitted. The term also carries implications that the news so transmitted (usually) has a personal or trivial nature, as opposed to normal conversation. In the last decade, gossip has been researched in terms of its evolutionary psychology origins. This has found gossip is an important means by which people can monitor cooperative reputations and so maintain widespread indirect reciprocity. Indirect reciprocity is defined here as "I help you and somebody else helps me". Gossip has also been identified by Robin Dunbar an evolutionary biologist as aiding social bonding in large groups. The term is sometimes used to specifically refer to the spreading of dirt and misinformation, as (for example) through excited discussion of scandals. Some newspapers carry "gossip columns" which detail the social and personal lives of celebrities or of élite members of certain communities.
  7. 15-19 November 2010 is all about Taking Action Together. The Madonna Experiment: " I think it would be interesting for everybody to try one simple experiment. If you want to talk about solutions or how can we solve this problem? Try to get through the day each and everyone of us… without gossiping about somebody. Without gossiping about anybody. And not only that. Not even listening to gossip. Walking away from it. Can you imagine what your day would be like? How much more free time you’d have? I also feel like you’d feel about better about yourself" - Madonna You can also show your support by donning the color Purple. Troubled gay students have hit headlines across the U.S. in recent weeks after several allegedly took their own lives following cruel taunts from their peers. And Madonna admits she is heartbroken by the tragic deaths – because it was her gay friends who ultimately made her feel accepted. Here’s what she had to say: Ellen Degeneres: I appreciate that you wanted to speak to this cause here because it is a very important cause to me and I understand for you. So speak to us. Madonna: Well, I just feel it would be incredible remiss of me to not say something. I’m incredibly disturbed and saddened by the overwhelming number of teen suicides that have been reported lately because of bullying. Suicide in general is disturbing. Teenagers committing suicide is extremely disturbing but to hear that teenagers are taking their lives because they are being bullied in schools and dormitories, what have you, is kind of unfathomable. I know a number of people have spoken out about it but I feel like I need to say something. The gay community has been incredibly supportive of me. I wouldn’t have a career if it weren’t for the gay community…I have a teenage daughter and I have ongoing discussions with her about this topic so I feel like I need to say a few words… Ellen Degeneres: Were you bullied as a kid? Did you feel different than other people when you were younger? Madonna: Yes, that’s an understatement. I still feel different. I can totally relate to the idea of feeling isolated and alienated. I was incredibly lonely as a child, as a teenager. I have to say I never felt like I fit in in school. I wasn’t a jock. I wasn’t an intellectual. There was no group that I felt a part of. I just felt like a weirdo…It wasn’t until my ballet teacher who was also gay took me under his wing and introduced me to a community of artists of other unique individuals who told me it was good and okay to be different and brought me to my first gay disco and ironically made me feel I was part of the world and it was okay to be different. Ellen Degeneres: What do you say to your children, Madonna? You said you started having these conversations when you talk about bullying. What do you say? Madonna:..We talk a lot about the importance of not judging people who are different. Not judging people who don’t fit into our expected view of what’s cool and what isn’t. Think about it across the board. The concept that we are torturing teenagers because they are gay. It’s kind of like I said earlier. It’s unfathomable. It’s like lynching black people or Hitler exterminating Jews. Sorry if I’m going on a rampage right now but this is America. The land of the free and the home of the brave…. Madonna: I think it would be interesting for everybody to try one simple experiment. If you want to talk about solutions or how can we solve this problem? Try to get through the day each and everyone of us…without gossiping about somebody. Without gossiping about anybody. And not only that. Not even listening to gossip. Walking away from it. Can you imagine what your day would be like? How much more free time you’d have? I also feel like you’d feel about better about yourself… Ellen Degeneres: I think it’s a good challenge. Just thinking that there is somebody on the other end of that….Madonna, I think you’re an amazing woman and before I let you go, when are we going to hear another album? We’re waiting for another album. Madonna: Ellen, never let me go. Ellen Degeneres: I know you are finishing up a film right now… Madonna: I’m editing it (her film) and as soon as I’m done. I’ve got to get my butt in the studio and make some more music. Ellen Degeneres: We can’t wait. http://www.ellen.warnerbros.com/
  8. www.madonna.ms is another option for dedicating along with www.madonnaradio.com. The God-Like qualities in Madonna really seems like the best representation in the site www.madonna.gd
  9. I'm thinking about creating a website in tribute to Madonna's G-d-Like essence. http://www.madonna.gd gd stands for G-d (in kabbalah, this is done to remove the energy usually inflicted in the word "God" to resemble "G-D" or "GD" www.Madonna.gd seems like a great place to start.

  12. Capricorn Horoscope for November 2010 By Susan Miller In October, you had a number of tough career decisions to make, and although Mars brought moments of levity, the overall message of last month was to buckle down and work. Now, sweet relief is at hand. November will be breezy and much more fun, and planets will work to get you out more and make new friends. Everything begins with the new moon, November 6. You may find that suddenly you really do have time to catch up with pals for lunches, dinners, parties, and cultural events, and when you do, you'll be able to leave the office behind and clear your head for a welcome feeling of refreshment. This same house that will be so brilliantly lit (eleventh house) also rules charity and humanitarian efforts. You may decide to get involved and help raise money and awareness for a cause dear to you. You might do this on a large scale or a small one, but either way you'll be proud of your involvement. Your biggest personal growth this month will occur from rubbing shoulders with others, so although you tend to be such a hard worker, you really should push yourself to get out more. You may make a new friend this month, or you may join a new group and be pleasantly surprised to find benefits that you had not anticipated. You may be invited to a party, luncheon, an industry convention, or set of seminars, so you should consider making time to go. You may also make a friend online too, when a friendly stranger sends you a message on Twitter or Facebook. Here I am referring to a platonic friend, but a happy happenstance nevertheless! If your birthday falls on January 4, you will be especially favored by this new moon, but all Capricorns will be enveloped with lovely vibrations. With Jupiter and Uranus sending greetings to the little band of planets in your eleventh house, it appears you may get more than one opportunity to travel to cities and towns not too far from home. At first, you may travel for your work, and even so, you can still enjoy those little sojourns. Later, your trip may be highly romantic - and I will get to THAT later! Two days that would be perfect for a trip would be November 15, when Jupiter will send a golden beam to the Sun, and November 19, when Uranus will do the same. In the second instance, your trip may be taken spontaneously, something you as a Capricorn are not prone to do. Enjoy life, Capricorn - not everything has to be scheduled! Neptune will turn direct on November 7 after having been retrograde since the end of May, ending a period of uncertainty and confusion in your finances. Watch the days surrounding November 7 for a clue, for often when a big planet changes direction it leaves a few clues about why you should feel that there would be better days to come. The big moment of the month for everyone will be November 18 when both Jupiter and Venus will go direct on the very same day. Jupiter is the planet of good fortune and governs all sorts of big money deals, so the turn of Jupiter direct will be a big relief to just about everyone. Finally, you can make a deal that sticks AND that has real profit potential! You have Jupiter in your third house of travel and communications projects (including agreements and contracts), so you should see a difference immediately. You never want to start a new venture while Jupiter is in weak, retrograde motion, because he would not be in a position to help you nearly as much as he could if he were moving direct. If you have been trying to settle a contract or agreement, for best luck you should wait to sign on or after November 19 (leaving one day's space from the date Jupiter moves ahead). Last month Venus went retrograde on October 18, so news of this planet's move direct on November 18 will also be met with celebration. You can book appointments with your stylist on November 19 or in the days that follow if you have been feeling you wanted to make a big change in your appearance, say, to cut or color your hair in a radically new way. If you were planning a simple trim or touch up, Venus retrograde won't affect you. You can do simple grooming at any time. Planning plastic surgery on your face? Honestly I don't think you need it, but if you feel you do, you should never schedule that kind of appointment with Venus retrograde. Venus is the planet of beauty and embellishment, and when she naps she withholds her sweetest powers, so you would want Venus moving at top speed when making any kind of change to your face or overall appearance, or when buying jewelry or other expensive clothing. Venus also rules love and romance, as well as parties, so you would want Venus moving direct on the day you choose to get engaged or married or when you choose to throw a big, expensive affair. Many people don't realize that Venus, like Jupiter, is associated with money and prosperity too, so it's better to have Venus moving direct when signing a contract. Thankfully, Venus only retrogrades for a few weeks every two years. This month, AFTER November 18, you have an open road. Venus won't retrograde again until May 15 to June 27, 2012. That's prime marriage time, but I hope brides will not choose that time to wed. I should add that Venus is the natural ruler of your tenth house of fame and honors, dear Capricorn, so with the move of Venus direct, you may hear some very heartening news about your career near or just after November 18. Something that was held up now gets released and starts to move forward again, much to your surprise. You'll be excited. With Uranus and the Sun so beautifully oriented on November 19, that day gets my pick for a contract signing. Do NOT sign when Mercury, the planet ruling agreements, is in hard angle to Uranus on November 26 and 27. Those are not days to travel either. I should add that December is due to be a troublesome month for many reasons. Mercury will be retrograde all month, from December 10 to 30, but you will feel the slowdowns, miscommunications, problems with shipping and travel, and other difficulties mount from December 1 onward. Also, December 21 will bring a difficult lunar eclipse in Gemini 29 degrees, sure to change your priorities and your agenda at the last minute because it falls so close to Cancer, your opposite sign. No one, not Capricorn, or any other sign, should be doing anything important in December. This information makes it clear that you need to make tracks in November. Get things done now and do not put things off for December. There really is a great urgency to finish talks and sign, and do so AFTER November 18. You can negotiate, plan, make lists, and prepare - and those activities are what you should be doing - but don't seal any decisions until AFTER November 18. If you can't get everything done by the end of November 30 (avoiding November 26 and 27) then table key decisions until January. This also means you HAVE to shop for holiday gifts in November. You must shop for electronics now, in November, but not in December. If you shop for anything electronic in December you would never be happy with your purchase and neither would your recipient. You can get a gift certificate though, and then go shopping together in January for the perfect model. I think that's a good option. If you want to buy expensive jewelry or perfume, do so from November 19-30 but not November 26 or 27.You can find the perfect fragrance then! Mars will be touring Sagittarius all month and on December 7, will move into your sign, dear Capricorn. You will be very busy during that coming phase, from December 7 to January 15 when Mars will be in Capricorn, for you will be starting a new two-year personal cycle. With a solar eclipse in Capricorn due January 4, life won't be dull in January, but you will have lots of control, for many planets will be gathering in your sign. Use the weeks leading to January to set up your blueprints for a bright new future, to start near your birthday. After the January 4 solar eclipse, you will have a better picture of what's to come, and you can plan with greater certainty. I have saved the best news for last. You have a five-star full moon coming on November 21, when the full moon will arrive in late degrees of Taurus, filling your house of true love with brilliant, golden light. This year many of the full moons have been flawed, but this one will be enchanting and lyrical in every way. The day it falls is a Sunday, but because a full moon has an area of influence of four days on either side, you can feel this as soon as Friday, November 19, or as late as November 24 or 25. I love this full moon because Jupiter and Uranus will be so perfectly positioned to make this time a standout for you. It looks as though you will be traveling again, but this time, the reason will be purely personal. This will be a rare moment in time, so I want you to plan something special if you've been dating. This is a night to celebrate your love, for sure. If you are single and looking, you could meet your one true love on this full moon. Children could also be part of the excitement at this time. You may find out that you or your partner is pregnant, because the full moon in Taurus is considered a very fertile placement. If you are already pregnant and have a due date that falls near November 21, have your bags packed, because your little baby is likely show up at this glorious full moon. If you have children now, one or more of them will make you laugh and be proud, no matter what your child's age. Indeed, this full moon is my favorite of the year, and will shower you with love in many forms. Finally, do you work in a creative profession or do you have an artistic pastime that you are serious about? Near this same full moon, November 21, your output will be very impressive. A creative project you have been nurturing seems to be nearing conclusion, and you are likely to hear some amazing praise. Were you born near January 19, plus or minus five days? This full moon will give you a double-dip of pleasure. What a wonderful month, dear Capricorn! Summary At long last, November will be an easier month than you've seen in some time. You may chuckle, but you've practically become used to living on the edge of a war zone, so it would be understandable if the lighter feel to November may take you completely by surprise. Mars Is now in your twelfth house of privacy until December 7, so for now, takes things slow and easy. Once Mars enters Capricorn December 7, there will be no time for rest - events will be moving very quickly. You will need to be rested so that you can start to put the pieces of your puzzle in place. In truth, you should wait until the new moon eclipse of January 4, 2011, has appeared and delivered its news before you make even more changes. Your activities in the coming weeks will be complicated by an upcoming Mercury retrograde next month, and Mercury will bring frustrating slowdowns in December. You'd be wise to complete all your most serious plans, as well as all of your holiday shopping now, in November. For most of November, the two sweetest and best parts of life will have to do with being with friends and travel. In fact, you might combine the two and go on a short trip to see a friend, or to ask one to come along with you on a quick trip. If you don't have a friend who is free to go out of town with you, don't let that stop you. Treat yourself to a long weekend alone if you feel the urge, perhaps to a spa, for you do need rest. A new setting, even close by, could work wonders to recharge your batteries in very short time. The new moon, November 6, will bring at least one friend into a prominent role in your life. Due to the year's eclipses, you've had a lot of adjustments to make and challenges to meet, so you shouldn't feel guilty about taking time off to kick back with your friends occasionally. Your private life will become more exciting in the two weeks following November 6, thanks to lovely support from generous Jupiter and surprise-a-minute Uranus. In fact, November is likely to be busier and more social than December, so as invitations come up, accept them! Your very best weekend for romance will be over November 20-21, when the full moon will arrive in fellow earth sign Taurus in your house of true love. A tender episode will come up then, and surprises abound. This is my favorite full moon of the year, and for you it could prove downright life changing. You may hear a confession of love, or if you are single, meet someone new that you find unforgettable. Follow your heart! This full moon will be worthy of four stars! Venus, the natural ruler of your fifth house of true love, will have turned direct by then, just a few days earlier on November 18, ending an all-too-serious, no-frills phase that first began in early October. Finally, life appears to be returning to the way you want it to be and you couldn't be happier. Your career progress may have temporarily slowed over the past few weeks, but by mid-November, any snags that you may have encountered will begin to untangle with a little bit of effort. During November's first two weeks, re-consider your job strategy and decide what you hope will happen next in your profession. Plan to enact your plans in January, which will be your best time, when Mars in Capricorn will be staunchly behind you and Mercury will be in top form, too. Venus also rules your house of fame, so from November 18 on, you'll start to see gratifying progress, even if you almost were ready to give up! For now, November will be made for fun, love, and creativity. Rather than try to cram too much into your life now, let things unfold naturally. Although it may be hard, you must resist the urge to press higher ups for answers because honestly, this month, they probably don't yet know the answers you seek. You may have better luck after November 18. Neptune will turn direct on November 7, so you may be surprised to see your finances improve soon after, with the promise of better things to come in February. Admittedly, if you have something truly important on your agenda, you will have to attend to it now, for as said, Mercury will be out of phase and making a mess of December, sending everything into a holding pattern. If you are ready to make an initiation, act on November 19 when Venus, a planet linked to career and profit, will be strongly positioned to help you. On November 19, you will also have the powerful full moon reaching fullness soon, giving everything stronger impact. Dates to Note: With Mars in Sagittarius, you need to wait a bit before it will be your turn to initiate more changes in your life. You've already had a number of radical changes. Wait until the January 4 eclipse has spoken first before you do more. Travel will be very likely, all month, and lots of fun. You will go over short distances, not long ones. Rest is on the agenda in November, so before the holidays come, take a weekend off, perhaps to a spa, to catch your breath. Friends will take on a big role in your life in November, after the new moon, November 6. You'll enjoy the change. Accept invitations, for November will be more exciting socially than even most of December! For love, it may be hard to beat the heart-stopping effect of the full moon over the week of November 20-21. It's four-star! Finances will get a boost too, in this lovely month, after Neptune goes direct November 7. You must act in November, because December will be a month rife with delays and problems. Your best day to make an initiation: November 15, when Mars will support your ruler Saturn, and Jupiter will support the Sun. It's good for signing a contact, too. Another day to make a big action: November 19, especially ones involving money and profit. Romance will be best in January, but in the meantime, your best days for love will be November 1, 4-6, 9, 14-15, 19-20, and 21. http://www.astrologyzone.com/forecasts/monthly/capricorn_full.php

  14. Ricky Martin came out in March 2010 and wrote a book about his life and spiritual journey, which includes advise given to him by Madonna. He spoke about this with Oprah on November 2, 2010. This advice can be applied to us all. Becoming closer to the light. All loving and all compassion. Ricky Martin is truly original and a great role model for us all, especially Latin-American. Be Careful-Cuidado Con Mi Corazon (Dubtronic M Solo Extended Version) Madonna Radio by madonnaradio Ricky Martin was a the first height of his stardom when he did a duet with Madonna, singing the song "Be Careful-Cuidado Con Mi Corazon). During this time, Madonna gave him some advice which was, essentially, (paraphrasing about his process of loving himself) Madonna comes up and advises him to stop doing interviews because people already know who he is. It wasn't until later that he understood what she was referring to. He states that he did not understand her words, in the moment. Later, he understood that she meant for him to step out of the picture and look at the bigger picture. He was obsessed with work and he was not ready to listen to his body, mind nor spirit. He knew that if he stepped back that he would allow his true self to reveal a gay man. In the moment of silence, he was not ready to reveal his sexuality. His "religion" made his mind state that his feelings were "evil" and "wrong". This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C s. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable." - Walt Disney [soundcloud width=100%" height="81" params="secret_url=false" url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/5912430?secret_token=s-RN1oj] Broken (Dubtronic Extended Version) by madonnaradio "Do not be desirous of having things done quickly. Do not look at small advantages. Desire to have things done quickly prevents their being done thoroughly. Looking at small advantages prevents great affairs from being accomplished." Confucious On Friday, October 8th, just when I was beginning a bold'ish move with Madonna Radio, I got an email from Yehuda Berg which states the following; "Friday October 8, 2010 We never know which action will tip the scales in our favor. Every extra effort ends up on the scale. The side it tips towards is totally up to us. Make bold moves today." I read my horoscope monthly at www.astrologyzone.com and, being a Capricorn (December 27th) I am true to this astrological sign. The October 2010 horoscope suggests a few items, stating if completed in October, Madonna Radio will solidify it's future. After brushing up on the stars, and how to proceed, another email arrived from Yehuda. It coincided with the horoscope forecast dealing with PASSION (for the week from October 10-16) . [caption id=attachment_615" align="aligncenter" width="298" caption="Deva Order][/caption] Here is what it reads: "The Honeymoon is Over" "How many times have we heard that phrase? When it comes to relationships, unfortunately, it seems that more often than not, passion wanes as the years progress. Even though we get to spend more time together and discover more about one another, we can fall into a rut. The romance fades. The excitement dissipates. Why is it that when the mystery fades, motivation goes with it? We could approach every day with the anticipation we felt for our wedding day, as if making a sacred connection for the first time. Truth is that there is a spiritual connection to be made every moment, and our awareness of truth has to be constant. Our challenge is to continue to grow and retain the sense of interest and excitement, even after 20 to 30 years of doing the same thing. Every day, we have to find motivation, something to make today different from yesterday. For me, it’s about having at least one project on the table that inspires me, and I let that inspiration trickle down [or say “inform everything I do”] into everything I do. In an effort to seek renewal and inspiration, sometimes we might make physical changes: moving homes, changing jobs, switching schools, etc., but we can't always look to the outside to awaken us on the inside. No one said Kabbalah is easy, but the work we put in leads us to a greater path -- if we commit to making the effort on a constant basis. (The emphasis is on the commitment.) When we do this in our relationships, work projects, spiritual growth, health, and so on, life’s ups and downs are fewer and further between. But if we approach life wearing yesterday’s glasses, without seeing the wonder in the present moment, then dips in motivation tend to be deeper, and we question more and more if what we’re doing is really worth it. This week I ask you to put on new glasses and see how you're approaching your commitment to this path. Be honest. See if you can transform your motivation and desire by doing a daily dig, seeing what new treasures you can find. Put in the time needed to make things happen in the best way possible, knowing that the best way might be different than your way. This is the path to sustaining passion and excitement. The more joyous we are about embracing life’s little obstacles along the way, the greater the chances we’ll be in it for the long haul. All the best, Yehuda" [caption id=attachment_616" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="A Deva][/caption] My Eastern - Western sign is Capricorn Fire Dragon (this is called "The Lordly Epicurean"). Divine Order is being in the moment connecting with the world. Like a Deva." Voila We are Madonna's Devas. A deva in Buddhism is one of many different types of non-human beings who share the characteristics of being more powerful, longer-lived, and, in general, living more contentedly than the average human being. Deva is the Sanskrit word for deity. It can be loosely interpreted as angel, or any benevolent supernatural beings. The devas in Hindu mythology are often juxtaposed to the usually Asuras, their half brothers. Devas are also the maintainers of the realms as ordained by the Trimurti. A deva in the New Age movement refers to any of the spiritual forces or beings behind nature. According to Theosophists Charles Webster Leadbeater and Alice A. Bailey, devas represent a separate evolution to that of humanity. The concept of devas as nature-spirits derives from the writings of Theosophist Geoffrey Hodson. It is believed by Theosophists that there are numerous different types of devas with a population in the millions performing different functions on Earth to help the ecology function better. It is asserted they can be observed by those whose third eyes have been activated. In addition, it is believed by Theosophists that there are millions of devas living inside the Sun, the indwelling solar deity of which Theosophists call the Solar Logos--these devas are called solar angels, or sometimes solar devas or solar spirits. Sometimes, it is believed, they visit Earth and can be observed, like other devas, by humans whose third eyes have been activated. Theosophists believe that there are also devas living inside all the other stars besides Sol; these are called stellar angels. In the Findhorn material, the term refers to archetypal spiritual intelligences behind species, in other words the group soul of a species. But elsewhere the term is used as a generic term to designate any elemental, nature spirit, or fairies.

  20. From http://madonnaradio.wordpress.com A friend I grew up with asked me how I got involved with Madonna Radio. I recall the events so clearly, I had to share this smile with you. I was chatting in the fanclub (they use to have chat ability at madonna.com) and we all wanted to hear music. At the time, madonna.com was only a basic php message board with chat capabilities and a basic website. We spoke with a guy in NY who played a few songs and it was so much fun, enjoying together, from around the world. It became an "event", at nights we would play music in the chat room, remixes and live shows mostly. I was talking with a guy and decided to create Madonna Radio for the community. I created the domain and began developing, with the fans' blessing. That's how I got involved. I then began approaching every remix artist whom we all enjoyed and asked permission to play their remixes then began creating sections within Madonna Radio. I created Madonna Remixes next and so the legend began. I feel honored to play Madonna Remixes and live shows for the community. There are 180-250 thousand regular listeners, from around the world." 21. This year (February 2010), we lost a Genius named Alexander McQueen. In my opinion, he created from his subconscious and conscious mind, obviously troubled with a beautiful mind. It's like, during fashion week, he pressed the "Out-Button" and checked out of our universe. That button bothers me. Apparently he suffered from anxiety and depression, like many genius minds who make global change. [soundcloud width=100%" height="81" params="secret_url=false" url="http://soundcloud.com/madonnaradio/madonna-lucky-star-dens54-leila-k-version] Madonna - Lucky Star (Dens54 Leila K Version) by madonnaradio I've been watching Lady GaGa on her musical journey. She's a force. I admire her vocal and visual talent. After I watched Lady GaGa's video "Bad Romance", styled by McQueen, I knew that was the future of fashion, that was "IT". I pulled everything the two of them were doing, and studied. In my opinion, McQueen made Lady GaGa into an other-worldly Icon. The fashion was totally beyond, I began watching his styles on the runway. The two were a muse to each other. He brought Couture to a level i've not seen in this lifetime. Being addicted to Madonna, i wondered what she was thinking while she watched this major force unfolding. He was 40 years old. He was the youngest of six children. Madonna and McQueen had many facets alike. After his death, Madonna released a statement "Lee McQueen was a truly unique visionary in the world of fashion. A creator of beauty. What a tragedy." http://madonnaradio.com I wonder if the visions of Madonna and the visions of McQueen are/were intertwined with a subconscious/conscious creation of art yielding innate abilities to change industry. My heart says that the female mind-processing handles the Icon deeming powers with less doubt. I believe doubt took McQueen. My favorite look in Madonna's world was Shanti-Shanti / Ray of Light / MTV by McQueen shrouding Madonna. 23. Capricorn Horoscope for September 2010 By Susan Miller This month continues your meditation about what elements should stay in your life, and what has to go. It's not easy to let go of certain people or things that once seemed so stable and secure, but the recent eclipses have revealed certain truths that are undeniable. As a practical soul, you are accepting of what you know and of making new arrangements. Your career seems to have taken up a big part of your thinking lately. Saturn, your ruler, has recently arrived at the pinnacle point of your chart. When Saturn makes his appearance in any new house, it always suggests that a change in direction or some new development related to the activities of that house is about to happen. In your case, Saturn will spend the two coming years in your career sector, so it is as if Saturn has come to say, "The wind has changed direction. You will need to reinvent yourself professionally to remain relevant." Making ourselves new and improved is a continual process for each of us, of course, in all phases of life. When any planet hits one of the pinnacle points - north, south, east, or west points - of the chart, it will act in a strong, intense way and speak louder and more insistently than if it were in any other part of the chart. Saturn is now doing that in your tenth house cusp, so it would be hard not to hear Saturn's messages. Keep in mind that Saturn has not been in this sign and solar house for Capricorn since 1980 to 1983, so this is a truly new influence. The professional changes that you are now about to see won't be rapid, but rather gradual. You, like Saturn, are careful and cautious, so things will proceed in a logical, practical, and organic way. There will be no reason to rush - you can take your time to think, experiment, or talk to friends and colleagues. Often Saturn will bring opportunity and the teacher / mentor / boss to provide the information to help you along. High energy Mars has been in your house of career since the end of July, and as you enter September, Mars will still be there for two more weeks until September 14. It seems you've been thinking about your career quite a bit lately. You may have been laying the groundwork for something new or, at the very least, thinking about what might excite you next. Mars will help you with those preparations. If you feel you have been in the workforce too long to become excited about your career, that's not true - many experienced workers find job satisfaction later in life after making switches. Actually, the more experience you have, the better choices you are likely to make. You can be happier - you simply have to find the courage to take the leap. Saturn will help you do this by providing the opportunity and even the person or education to help groom you for that new spot. Statistics are hard to come by, but some experts say that the average employed worker (all levels) will change careers three to seven times in their life. By that, the expert is not referring to a change of employer but a switch to doing something really new. Sometime between now and October 2012 you will be ready to follow either a new direction in your present career or turn to a completely new one. While it's often anxiety producing to think you may have to shift into a different profession, the change is often easier than you think. If you dread going to work now, then you deserve to spend your time doing something you really enjoy. You also will grow in sophistication and leadership in a position that's meant for you. If you haven't yet had discussions about a new role you will take on, it's coming, and you are most likely to hear about it after the new moon on October 7. In a sense, Pluto is working with Saturn by standing ready in Capricorn, for the first time since 1762-1778, to help you transform your lifestyle, and possibly even your looks - all, new and improved. Many people never get to experience Pluto in their sign, but you have it now, and if you were born early in your sign, within four days of December 23, you have Pluto's full attention to help you find new directions to explore. This month, Pluto will go direct at 2 degrees Capricorn. For months, since early April, Pluto has stymied your biggest plans, for you work better and more decisively when this planet is moving direct. Now your engines will rev up, and you will have a powerful Pluto behind you until April 2011. If you were wondering why your progress seemed slow over the past five-and-a-half months, it was not your imagination - you were missing Pluto's direct support. While Saturn moved through Virgo (September 2007 to July 2010), you gained a new and much broader perspective on life. Some Capricorns went back to college to gain more education, while other members of your sign took another root and became much more reflective, possibly even more spiritual and philosophical. The ninth house, where Saturn was based for three years, is the house that we look at to know when and how to rise above everyday routine existence - to see the full panorama of life and all that's possible in the future. The new moon this month, September 8, will encourage more deep thinking. Many Capricorns will be excited about starting college / grad school this month. This would be the perfect time to direct your attention to ANY type of education, from grad school to continuing education. Even the idea of taking a seminar or two to brush up on changes in your industry would boost your interest and enthusiasm. Alternatively, you might be contemplating the idea of taking a vacation. The ancients felt foreign travel was another form of education, which is why they coupled international travel with higher education in the ninth house. The new moon, September 8, will allow you to pack and go quickly. Mercury, the ruler of Virgo (and this is a new moon in Virgo), will send an important missive to Pluto in Capricorn, suggesting this trip could truly recharge you from the inside out. As long as you remain flexible if schedules change - and they might, as Mercury will be retrograde until September 14 - you will be fine. If you can't travel and have no plans to take classes, you may also find opportunity in the media world, whether as a guest to be interviewed on TV or on the other side of the fence, as a writer, researcher, editor, or producer in a staff position. If you are self-employed, you may get the kind of publicity that could help you enormously. If your birthday falls on January 6 or within four days of this date, you will benefit even more from this expansive new moon September 8 than any of your friends who may also be Capricorn. Of course, you may have other planets in Capricorn, Taurus, or Virgo at 16 degrees. This is a busy month, because Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will head back to Pisces on September 9, and will stay until January 22, 2011. Jupiter here will help you hone your communication skills, which is always a plus. In fact, you may be learning to create or communicate in a new way. If you always wrote magazine articles, you may be asked to host a radio show, as one example. You may take a class in improvisation and become interested in comedy writing. There are dozens of possibilities for you to explore. On September 18, Jupiter (good fortune) and Uranus (surprises) will make a very rare and special conjunction, and when they do, these two powerhouse planets will light your solar third house of communication with 100,000 points of light. It will be a four-star day! September 18 is a Saturday, but you can use the Thursday and Friday leading to this wonder-day to your advantage, too. It would be a perfect time to give a speech, write or give a proposal, or be interviewed by the media. No matter what type of communication you choose to do, you seem to have a mesmerizing effect on others now, so use this ability. A loving universe has given it to you. If you were born on or within five days of January 18, you will stand to benefit from this poetic linking in a very big way, although ALL Capricorns will have something to cheer about. Your home and family are likely to be your focus at the full moon, September 23, plus or minus four days. You've had a lot of emphasis on housing and the affairs of parents over the past few months, and perhaps you've been putting the pieces of your puzzle in place. However, this full moon has all sorts of good and bad aspects associated with it, from superb and luxurious to jarring and upsetting. Your experience is likely to be a mixed bag, with lots of emotions in the air, and plenty of events to respond to. If you have a partner, you may have problems convincing him or her of the wisdom of your impending domestic plans. Something about this full moon seems to separate you from your partner rather than bring you together. Be sure to bring your partner into your plans early on, instead of presenting ideas at the last minute - your partner may need time to adjust. Jupiter will fall close to this full moon, protecting it, but with Saturn opposed, there seems to be a touch of sadness, too. Perhaps you are breaking up and you need to give your former partner back some possessions. It's never an easy process. Or, maybe your parents are moving out of the house of your childhood, and you will be helping them pack for their new move to a sunny climate. There seems to be a touch of sentimentality here, but hopefully, this won't apply to you. The end of the month, September 30, brings Saturn conjunct the Sun, so again you will be thinking about your career. This may be a time when you will be forced to make a major long-term decision about your career, or that you will accept a major position. If you start a job on this day (or a day later), you will certainly work very hard, but you will also rise to an extremely powerful position. In that case, that may all be fine with you! Before I go, I want you to know that this month won't only be about work and home - there will be moments of fun, too. Mars will move into Scorpio on September 14 to stay until October 28. While there, Mars will fill your eleventh house of friendship / events. Mars will see to it that you get lots of reasons to mix with your pals. Venus will travel right along side Mars, so you can be sure the things you all do together will be fun and possibly even be pampering or luxurious at times. The closer you get to the end of the month, the closer Venus and Mars will be to each other - keep that in mind! (Hint: October 3 they will meet in conjunction, a lovely date night to look forward to for you.) As Edna Buchanan said: "Friends are the family we choose for ourselves." This month, your friends will make a warm and comforting presence, and you will feel blessed to have them. Your most romantic evenings will be September 4, 8, 11-12, 17, 18, 26, 27.
  24. Capricorn (December 22 - January 19) Your August Horoscope by Susan Miller Capricorn Horoscope for August 2010 By Susan Miller If you have been feeling tossed about on the sea of life, it would certainly be understandable. Most Capricorns have coped with an enormous amount of upheaval lately due to the recent eclipses on June 26 and July 11. The areas of your life that are reshaping your world these days involve your career, your relationship with a significant other in love or business, and possibly regarding a residential, property, or family situation. That's a lot of change for anyone to digest, but this month, all these areas could again bring news. This could become a landmark month for you. A rare cardinal cross is about to appear in the heavens on August 6 and 7, and could have a spillover effect a little beyond those dates, up to August 13. This cross has been in the process of forming since June 26, the date of the lunar eclipse in Capricorn, but now all the planets, like guests at a wedding, have arrived and assumed their assigned places. Crosses are very rare because you need a group of planets to be in very precise tolerance and a very narrow limit of mathematical degrees, all at the same time. One of each of the elements must be present in cardinal signs, so in this case, we would need fire (Aries), water (Cancer), air (Libra), and earth (Capricorn) all within zero to 5 degrees. All of these qualifiers will be met on August 6 and 7. We will never see one like this again in our lifetime. The planets involved are Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus, and the transiting moon in Cancer. It is important to note that the planets involved here are mainly heavy-hitters - Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, and Saturn! Mars, not to be outdone, will move to 5 degrees Libra and trigger the precise degree of the June 26 eclipse, thereby unlocking a message of that eclipse. Most cross patterns have four planets at 90 degrees ("square") from each other with two oppositions, but this time we have ten squares and seven oppositions. Wow. This only increases the tensions and obstacles that are likely come up, but in so doing, necessary plans and changes will be made, and in the chaotic atmosphere, you will have the possibility for enormous personal growth. One of the hallmarks of a cardinal sign is its insistence that this sign understand the concept of urgency. With any of the cardinal signs, things that need to happen do happen quickly, not in the fuzzy, distant future. As a result of all the changes that are happening in your life, you are getting a new appreciation of who you are, where you are headed, and what you want to happen next in your life. In fact, you may now begin to change your appearance quite a bit to reflect all the changes going on within you. In every way you are becoming new, and as you emerge out of your new shell, others will respond very positively to the new you. Now and in weeks ahead, will have a chance to correct a past mistake or fine-tune a relationship, or, conversely, break up and walk away. With aspects in such extreme positions, you won't be able to put things off for another more convenient time. If your birthday falls between December 21 and 26, or a little beyond these dates (or have planets or rising sign in early degrees of a cardinal sign), you will feel this month's energies very strongly. No doubt you have already seen some major life changes. When planets push and pull at one another, they create quite a bit of tension. Parts that are weak will break down but areas that are strong will withstand all. Afterward you will know where the cracks in the foundation lie, for Pluto will show you clearly, and you will be able to either work to fix them or abandon the situation altogether. In the media, you may hear about extreme acts of nature, say, possibly in regard to an earthquake, a fire due to lightning, or other dramatic phenomenon. Also, since Pluto in Capricorn is playing such a central role in this configuration, and Capricorn rules global corporations and massive money and investments, the stock market could easily rock more than it did earlier this year. The date this is likely to happen is August 6, but it could come as late as August 13. We have seen grand crosses before - there was a grand fixed cross (involving only fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio) on August 17-18, 1999. Cross patterns always portend vast social change as well as dramatic shifts within our personal lives. The planets, when they clang together so discordantly, will show us which areas have moved out of balance and need to be addressed with fresh ideas. Of all the parts of life that appear to be front and center, your career seems to be getting the most attention, but your partner (or soon to be ex) could be as well. Saturn, your ruling planet, moved into Libra last month on July 21 and will remain in your tenth house of career and reputation until October 4, 2012. Saturn has not been in this sign and house since late 1980 through mid-1983. Often when Saturn arrives for the first time in a long time, he will upset the status quo and demand you come up with a new approach to the challenges presented. You soon find that old methods that worked use to work well in the past don't work anymore. Most of us spend valuable time then denying what we are seeing, then panicking, and then trying to apply old tricks that prove no longer viable. After a while, Saturn will continue to twist your arm until you cry uncle and try something new. "Very good!" he will say - and instantly reward you. I have seen this to be true this over and over. Saturn's rare presence in one's career house really does mean none of the old rules apply any more. In fact, Saturn will be so pleased that you found the courage to become experimental that he will begin to reward you instantly even if the method you chose is not necessarily the perfect answer quite yet. Saturn wants you to crack out of old patterns and the minute you show a willingness to venture out of your comfort zone, you will be encouraged by results. Other people will then come to your side too at that point, so tinkering with the solution will get you assistance you need. The changes and work you are doing in your career will be at times arduous, but the gains you make will be very long-range, yours to keep forever. One day when you may be celebrating a career victory, or hearing some exciting praise from a boss or client, will be August 20, when Venus and Mars make an exact conjunction at the tip top of your chart. It could be a very gratifying moment - drink it in and celebrate. The best part of your chart is your apparent luck with home and real estate matters. Conditions are not quite right for you to act now, though, so you will have to be patient until early 2011. You will lose good luck Jupiter in your house of home, property, and family when he moves back into Pisces on September 9. As I will discuss in a moment, Mercury is sending in his fleet of gremlins all month, so I would not want you to make any home or property decisions in August. Also, on August 14, Uranus will retrograde back into Pisces, but that change actually may be a welcome one, as your home situation will become a bit more stable than it has been since the end of May. If you were born at the end of December, you may have seen your home situation gyrating for weeks. Check to see what happened lately, on July 30, when Mars opposed Uranus - that might have been a startling, unsettling time for home and family matters. Don't be too hasty to apply a solution, however, because this month it is likely to be the wrong one. Mercury will be retrograde from August 20 to September 12 and will create a confusing situation. When Mercury, the planet of intellect, communication, commerce, contracts, transportation, shipping, and negotiation is out of phase, the pace of life slows down. Conditions will change quickly and dynamically, in response to all events in the world, seeming at once. (Picture the mercury in an old-fashioned thermometer - mercury moves fast!) Before you know which way things are going, you would be wise to hold back and wait for the dust to settle so that you can see the road ahead. Important people will become hard to reach or indecisive as early as August 1. You always feel the impending Mercury retrograde far in advance of the date Mercury actually turns backward. This will make August somewhat of a mess, so you would be wise to table any big initiations until mid-September. Don't sign any leases or contracts, and don't buy anything expensive - certainly not anything electronic large or small, for you won't get the pleasure you hope to get from that purchase. Don't agree to a new job or other major life change - in fact, I would wait to have that important first date, too. Mars, now in your house of career, has you thinking quite a bit about how you can get ahead. Still, with Mercury creating a ruckus, you can't really make too much progress, so be content with a slow and steady pace for now. With so many planets in your house of career in Libra (Mars, Venus, and Saturn) you would do best to collaborate in a close, one-to-one way rather than try to plan (and operate) alone. On August 6, coincidently the same day as the cardinal cross will appear, Mars will reach precisely 5 degrees of Libra and send a 90-degree aspect to the June 26 lunar eclipse in Capricorn. This suggests you may get news about a close relationship, whether regarding a personal alliance or a business one. It's possible someone will announce a departure if you have not yet seen someone leave in June or July. Keep in mind that grand fixed crosses or eclipses in your sign may be stressful, but they are good too in that they have the power to correct imbalances or injustices. If someone wronged you, this cardinal cross may allow you to set things right again. My point is that not all news would necessarily be bad - sometimes the news can be quite wonderful. Both ends of your emotional spectrum will be extended and widened. Depending on your natal chart and what has been happening lately, you might be thrilled or upset with the news you get near August 6. Yet even if you don't initially like the news you get, it will be news that will work to protect you, and allow you to move forward with your new life with greater certainty. Be sure to take very good care of your health. Do not put off any checkups, procedures, or surgeries, and take any medication your doctor has prescribed. When eclipses fall in your own sign (in the case of the June 26 eclipse, in Capricorn) you might notice a health matter that needs attention. There is only a small chance this will happen, but I thought I would mention it. Should you notice something doesn't seem right, have a medical consultation. Like a little dog, barking and pulling on your skirt or trouser to make you leave the house, the eclipse will practically make you see your doctor or dentist so that you can get the help you need - and feel good again. Now let's talk about money. Your financial situation had consumed your thinking during from October 2009 to June 7, 2010. That may have been a stressful period for joint financial affairs. You may have been negotiating the division of property in a divorce or end of a business or disputing an insurance company claim. You may have had to go to court to clarify an inheritance, or ask for an appeal regarding college financial aid. All sorts of matters involving "other people's money" were being highlighted but there appeared to be some difficulties and discussions may have become inflamed and heated. This is not always the case, but Mars, as the warrior planet, is certainly capable of banging the war drums. Now, with the new moon, August 9, you will have a chance to redress the financial situation you were focused on, and hopefully, apply a new, workable solution. This time the atmosphere would be calmer than the one that surrounded talks earlier. Neptune is currently still transiting your second house of personal resources and earned income. (This is a different house than the one where the new moon will arrive and will be found directly across from it on the wheel.) Neptune, the planet that rules confusion and concealment, is in what is considered far mathematical degree from the new moon, nearly 10 degrees away. This is the mathematical limit I usually apply, so I will say to you that you MAY need to factor in the possibility that someone you are dealing with now is not being completely forthright with you. If you feel that you are missing pieces of information when it comes to money, you need to demand full transparency. Once the Sun moves into Virgo, August 23, you will see tensions reduce enormously. You may have a chance to take a short trip on or near the full moon August 24, plus or minus five days. This full moon will signal Pluto in Capricorn, so you're sure to have happy results, especially if you need to travel for work. You probably won't return with an order quite yet because Mercury is retrograde, but it appears you'll make a lot of progress. That piece of business is likely to come through next month. If this trip is for fun and love (anything is possible) then you will have a very happy time. This full moon is falling in poetic, tender Pisces, a sign that blends beautifully with yours. Choose either the weekend that precedes or comes after August 24 - either would be fun. Remember not to drive too far - you don't have to! Pisces rules the sea, so perhaps you will go to a little cottage where you can take in fresh air and enjoy seeing the surf roll in. Lucky you - that sounds soothing and romantic, a perfect way to end a very busy month. Summary Recent months brought all sorts of meditations about the role of a certain partner in your life, so as you enter August, you'll still be thinking of how to handle recent revelations and what to do about all the talks you've had. The cardinal cross on August 6 and 7 (plus Mars reaching 5 degrees Libra on the same day) could easily trigger startling news of the eclipse June 26 in Capricorn, especially if your birthday falls December 21-26. Theoretically, any Capricorn could hear news. If you have planets in Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn at 1 to 5 degrees, you will be named in this month's events. It looks like financial negotiations and appropriations will be first on your list to do. Ordinarily a new moon in your eighth house of side income would help you get a lot accomplished. Yet, this time the once-a-year new moon, coming August 9, won't help as much as you might have hoped. Neptune will widely oppose the new moon, so facts could be obscured and you'll find yourself trying to get through an environment of smoke and mirrors. You may or may not sense that things are off kilter, however, so you will have to be extra careful to avoid potholes. If you are in a court case, or trying to settle division of property in a divorce, for example, the other side may keep financial details concealed, or your partner may be a person of integrity, but the figures may simply contain unintentional errors. Either way, you can't quite trust all the reports you get now, so postpone decisions until next month to give yourself time to ask questions and to do more digging. Saturn is now back in your lofty career sector and urging you to reinvent yourself in a completely new way. Using the same old formulas that worked in the past won't yield the same results, for conditions are shifting rapidly. You'll discover this soon enough (if you haven't already). It's time to move to a new beat and for the little goat to climb a new mountain. You won't have to turn your life inside out necessarily (i.e., change careers), but you will have to expand your base or reach for a more senior position, simply because it's time you showed the world what you are capable of doing. August 20 could be a day when you impress the VIPs at the top, for Mars and Venus will embrace in your career sector, creating an enormously bright light on you and your accomplishments. Mercury will be retrograde from August 20 to September 12, so it's not wise to enter into anything new during that phase, UNLESS the offer comes from a former boss or company you worked with in the past. In that case, be my guest - you can take it! The last part of August will be made for travel, most likely for business. This month will be so busy - it seems to be a hard one to get away for fun. Alas, sometimes life is that way, but even so, you will be able to combine business with pleasure. If you CAN be the exception to the rule and get away for a few days near August 24, choose an enchanting location that will inspire and center your spirit but that is based not too far from home. With a full moon in Pisces, chances are, you'll choose a cottage by a lake, the sea, or other body of water. Dates to Note: Financial developments and other news on August 6-7 and in the following week, as late as August 13, could be startling. Take in all that is going on, but don't rush. You will need time to think. Next month you will have the whole picture. Your career may also bring news near the same dates, August 6 and 7, into the following week. The time near August 20 may bring praise and a feeling of accomplishment. It would not be wise to accept a new position now - wait until the dust settles. You will be better able to sort things out in October. You may feel an urgency to act, but - resist it. The new moon in your eighth house on August 9 would ordinarily help matters of money but this time may bring more financial questions than answers. Neptune, the planet that spins fog and confusion, will be prominent, so if you are given checks from others, ask questions and demand honest answers. Mercury will be retrograde in your travel sector from August 20 to September 12. You may need to delay or revise a trip. Call ahead if you have appointments - they may change. 25. This is a great book. I’m reading this. Author biography Dear Amazon Reader, I’m the author of two books on recent human evolution. They are addressed to the general reader interested in knowing what the evolutionary past tells us about human nature and society today. One, Before the Dawn, traces how people have evolved during the last 50,000 years. As of this writing the book has received almost 100 reviews from Amazon readers, most of whom have been kind enough to say they liked it. The other, The Faith Instinct, looks specifically at religion. In it I first explore how religious behavior evolved in early humans, and then follow the cultural development of religion from hunter gatherer societies to those of the present day. One of the book’s themes is that religious behavior evolved because it conferred significant advantages on the first societies to practice it, and that it is of continuing value today. The book should be of interest both to people of faith and to those with none. It does not attack the central position of either side, having nothing to say about whether or not God exists; it’s about religious behavior, which everyone agrees does exist. Publication date is November 11, 2009. How did I came to write these books? Not by any very direct or logical route. I was born in Aylesbury, England, then a rural outpost where cattle were stalled in the central town square on market days. I was educated at Eton, a school founded for poor scholars by Henry VI in 1440 AD, and then at King’s College, Cambridge, also founded by Henry VI. Perhaps this connection with the medieval past gave me a fondness and respect for history. Still, I got my degree in science and have spent much of my life as a journalist writing about scientific issues of various kinds. My first serious job was at Nature, a leading weekly scientific magazine based in London, after which I moved to Washington DC to join Science, Nature’s principal rival in the United States. Nature and Science exist mostly to publish research findings but both have news sections addressed to scientists. It was in the course of writing news articles for Science that I learned of the epic rivalry between Roger Guillemin and Andrew Schally to win the Nobel prize. Their 21 year race was the subject of my book The Nobel Duel, (now alas out of print). Another book that grew out of reporting for Science was Betrayers of the Truth, written with my colleague William Broad. We analyzed the many cases of scientific fraud we had reported for Science, trying to find common patterns in who commits fraud, why they do it, and why they are almost never detected by the vaunted checking mechanisms of science like peer review and replication. The book appeared many years ago, but nothing has changed since. Fraud continues to be detected by those with personal knowledge of the deceiver, not by the official procedural safeguards of science. Leaving Science, I joined the New York Times as an editorial writer and wrote about political issues to do with science, the environment and defense. After 10 years of issuing opinions, I moved to the more objective realm of the paper’s science section, first as its editor and then as a reporter. A great benefit of reporting is that the job requires speaking to the leading experts in a field, through whom one has the chance to become very well informed – the perfect vantage point from which to write books. I wrote Lifescript (2001), an account of the race to sequence the human genome and its consequences. Then followed Before the Dawn (2006), the story of evolution since modern humans dispersed some 50,000 years ago from the ancestral homeland in northeast Africa. Before the Dawn gave me the idea of trying to reconstruct the genesis of religion, a crucial social behavior that clearly emerged before modern humans left Africa. The Faith Instinct takes the reader from the religious practices of the ancestral human population, to the spring and harvest festivals of early agricultural societies, the historical origins of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and the role of religion today in morality, reproductive behavior, warfare and statecraft. I learned much fascinating information from writing the book and reached conclusions that I hadn’t at all expected to arrive at. If a book is a surprise to its author, as this one was to me, there’s a chance it will contain something new and interesting for the reader, as I hope will be the case. - Nicholas Wade http://www.amazon.com/Nicholas-Wade/e/B001H6WF40 2010/06/23
