    2. Madonna, the Material Girl who ruled the world
During an appearance on “American Bandstand” in 1983, Dick Clark asked an up-and-coming young singer what her career aspirations were. With a smile, she matter-of-factly said, “I want to rule the world.”
    All hail Queen Madonna!
Twenty-five years, 12 Billboard No. 1 songs, worldwide album sales totaling hundreds of millions and a Golden Globe later, she has ruled with a velvet fist.
Besides her numerous accolades, Madonna has influenced fashion, dance and pop culture for an entire generation. Not bad for a girl from Bay City, Mich.

Sometime ago, Steven Klein gave an interview to Ralph Goertz for the German Institut für Kunstdokumentation und Szenografie. www.absolumentmadonna.fr
    He explained the concept behind Madonna’s X-STaTIC Pro=CeSS project…
“With Madonna or with celebrities, I’m not interested in dressing them up to look like models. She [Madonna] wasn’t interested in modeling, fashion or doing clothes where it just says ‘Here I am, here I’m beautiful’. She’s not afraid to be ugly or to let herself go in that sense. The premise was to explore the idea of a performance artist.
For this X-STaTIC Pro=CeSS project, we talked for months before we actually worked and in Los Angeles, with the video, it’s not in a sense of the idea of she will say “I want this, I want that” or whatever. It’s a pure collaboration of… I’ll bounce an idea off and she’ll maybe edit it or have a critique on something or say “what about this” or the ending doesn’t look good like this. It’s that kind of collaboration between two people. It’s not like I’m working for her or she’s treating me like somebody that’s like…where most celebrities will come in and say “Ok, what do you want to do” and they leave by five. She’s very much 50/50 and that’s a good feeling, to feel that kind of input from the person you’re working with. It makes the output much bette

Madonna made a video statement about how Malawi changed her life…
    Here’s what she had to say… www.absolumentmadonna.fr
    Dear Friends,
So many of you helped bring Light to the situation in Malawi — thank you.
Over the last several weeks the world has focused on this small African nation where a couple was sentenced to 14 years hard labor for the “crime” of homosexuality.
After worldwide outrage the decision was overturned and the couple is now free!
It is my hope that this is just the beginning of our global community coming together to bring justice to Malawi.
Seven years ago I could not locate Malawi on a map. Since then, this small African nation has become the center of my world — capturing my heart and transforming my life.
    Let me tell you how.
It can be overwhelming at times knowing that Malawi is home to over two million orphans and vulnerable children due to HIV-AIDS and extreme poverty. The tragedy that exists there, with children left to raise other children, is very real.
Despite the unimaginable conditions, there is a hope and a determination in the people of Malawi that is nothing short of contagious. Every trip to Malawi I leave feeling more inspired by the progress and more hopeful than before.
With the smallest actions, I have witnessed enormous change — and that’s why I’m inviting you to continue to help me transform Malawi.
The construction of the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls is just one example of the life changing projects happening right now in Malawi.
I am asking you to partner with me.
I know that, together, we will raise Malawi.
    Thank you for your support.
    Love,
    Madonna

Lady Gaga gave an interview to talk show host Larry King, on CNN.
She is now convinced she’s beginning to morph into Madonna - because her mother looks so much like the Queen of pop. www.absolumentmadonna.fr
Larry King: Many articles about you refer to Madonna comparisons, parallels… What do you make of all that? What do you think of her?
Lady Gaga: I think Madonna’s great. She’s been a wonderful friend, and very kind and supportive… Amazing. She’s such an incredible woman. I get compared to so many people and we all get compared to each other. We’re blond, brunette, black, white, straight, gay… But on another level kinda funny, because my mother actually looks very much like Madonna and the older I’ve gotten I looked more and more like my mother, so… Sometimes I just want to say: “It’s not my fault I look like her” [laughs]
Larry King: Did you have fun doing that skit with her on Saturday Night Live?
Lady Gaga: I did, she’s great. We had a blast. We were laughing. We’re both quite militant about rehearsals, so we were driving everybody crazy rehearsing over and over again. SNL wanted us to go get ready for the show and we kept going. She’s so great… of course, no bad comparison to Madonna. She’s wonderful and there can never be another, so I’ll have to think of even more ways to annoy and shock everyone, because she has done everything.
Finally Gaga revealed she was asked to open for Michael Jackson on his tour.
But when asked “Who do you look up to?” Gaga mentioned her mother, grandmother, princess Diana, David Bowie… but not Madonna !

DJ and producer David Guetta confirmed to The Guardian that he and Madonna recently wrote and recorded a track together, but he fears that record label issues may prevent the release ot the track. www.absolumentmadonna.fr
“It’s a tricky situation, because she’s now out of a record deal. We don’t even know what’s going to happen with it. It’s a huge record, so it’s really frustrating.
The track is part of the Warner deal, but it’s not on the album, so why would they invest any money in it? I was really unlucky with that one.”

Music producer David Foster who produced two tracks for Madonna in her “Something to Remember” compilation, talked about the first time meeting her, during his book tour…www.absolumentmadonna.fr
“I don’t know her that well. I only did a few songs with her.
When I met Madonna to decide whether we were going to work together, she wanted to have dinner in New York. I never met her before, I knew her music. I sat down at dinner. She does the Bill Clinton, where she breaks the 18 inch rule; she will get right up in you. But I must tell you that Madonna was so seductive at dinner that night and she wasn’t doing it. She was not interested in me. It’s just who she is. It just oozes out of her. I was like… (mouth drops)
I found her to be so seductive; it was hard for me to concentrate. There’s more beautiful women in the world, but she’s sexy, she’s really sexy.
We ended up doing a few songs together and had some good success together.”

Singer Donna De Lory has spent 20-plus years as Madonna’s back-up singer and dancer on nearly every world tour, countless live performances and in music videos.
She gave an interview to Stuff Magazine and talks about music, yoga and Madonna!
Stuff Magazine: Do you find that a lot of Madonna fans wind up coming to the yoga centers? www.absolumentmadonna.fr
Donna De Lory: Some of them. But a lot of them, their lifestyles are just going in that direction [anyway], at least partly. It’s really sweet, a lot of fans would walk in [to a yoga center] and we’d say, “You have to take off your shoes.” They’d start apologizing: “Oh, we’re so sorry!” I’m like: you don’t have to be sorry! It’s just what we do in this place. [Laughs] It’s all a positive thing. I’m all about making positive music.
Stuff Magazine: Did studying Eastern philosophy help keep you grounded when you were traveling with Madonna? I just imagine, being so young in this exciting, glamorous life...
Donna De Lory: It always did, and more and more as I developed and grew in that experience. I was touring with a major superstar when I was 21. I was completely lost in it. I wanted to be just like Madonna. I was always comparing myself to her: how can you not? She was my big, famous sister. I was trying to be as pretty as her, as glamorous as her, have nice clothes like her. Here I am, [thinking] I can never have those kinds of clothes: Dolce and Gabbana morning and night. Maybe some day, but not right now! I was constantly trying to compare myself. ... But I learned. There was enough time in between working with her that I could go out, do my own thing and develop myself. Every time I came back to do a big tour, it was such a reflection to me of where I was at. Pretty soon, like the last time I toured in that capacity, I felt such incredible love for the audience: that oneness. I didn’t feel I was up on stage. I just realized that’s what it was all about - that’s what I wanted it to be about. I wasn’t into being on stage and being worshipped for myself - doing it as a character role is one thing. But having already gotten out there, my awareness had really changed a lot.
Stuff Magazine: You weren’t on her last tour. Is that change in awareness why?
Donna De Lory: I think inside I knew it was coming, but I was also pregnant and having my baby. I remember thinking, “I don’t think it’s going to happen.” I remember in that moment, I already missed it: “I’m not going to be on another Madonna tour!” But she’s a person who moves on. She fills a space and moves on. She has a lot of people who work for her, and this is part of the natural experience. I can go down my path and do my thing. I keep it open: when you work with someone for so long you keep it open to work with them again. Maybe not in the same capacity: I’d love to do more benefits and big events, and support her in that way.
Stuff Magazine: In terms of yoga and spirituality, some people would say Madonna is someone in pop culture that raised exposure too. Would you agree?
Donna De Lory: I think she reached a certain time in her life and there was a lot of that shown in her music. That’s what I appreciated in her as an artist, that [sense of] evolution. You’d see it on the tours, the images used on the screen, the symbols. I love the fact that people are into something, helping themselves grow and being more compassionate. Every time an artist does a record, it’s documenting where they are in their consciousness, in their life. My next record will document that about me. I’m already working on it. It has everything on there from a lullaby to my daughter to a funky, hip-hoppy kind of song. I think of it as my mainstream spiritual pop song. You don’t have to be into yoga to get the message. It’s just sweet.

It’s official: The music of Madonna will be coming back to “Glee.”

"She's my Holy Grail of chat show guests. Why the hell would she do it though? But, if we're on the air long enough, hopefully there will come a day when she'll come on. Essentially it's because I'd like to meet her, it's as simple as that. I've never met her and I'd like to."

"In her case I think you'd do a special, I think you'd have to do a special just with her, maybe with other people along the way but it would be the Madonna show. If Glee can give up their show for her then I'm sure I can."

British comedian Graham Norton, confessing he would love to meet Madonna and promising if the Queen of Pop agreed to be a guest on his chat show he would dedicate an entire episode just to her.

Confirmation and more details about Madonna's upcoming visit to Malawi are included in this mail sent out by Raising Malawi's Philippe van den Bosschetoday:

    Dear all,
It was once just a dream.
But this week, Madonna and I will leave for Malawi to see our dream become a reality. Tuesday, April 6, we will lay the first bricks for the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls.

We want you to be there with us. Madonna has been so moved by the stories of inspiring women that people like you shared with us, that she would like to share one person's words at the brick-laying ceremony.

Would you like for Madonna to share your story? Share your hopes and intentions now:

    http://www.raisingmalawi.org/BrickLaying

This academy will be so much more than just a school. In a country where one million children have been orphaned due to AIDS, our academy will educate, protect, and empower young girls who, quite frankly, carry the weight of their nation.

It will be a family and support center for many orphaned girls left to raise other children. It will be a source of protection and access to medical care and regular meals. And it will be a place of spiritual empowerment, giving girls the tools to create the reality they deserve.

But we can't forget: it will also be an outstanding school. Our academy will hold girls to the highest standards. Girls who have never before had someone believe in their potential will, for the first time, step foot inside a library and hold a textbook of their very own.

The potential we are about to unleash is incredible. Share your dreams for these girls now:

    http://www.raisingmalawi.org/BrickLaying

Madonna and I are looking forward to seeing Anjimile Oponyo, the Director of Raising Malawi Academy for Girls, who will be there to lay the first brick along with Hans Vestberg, CEO of Ericsson and Jeffrey Sachs, President and Co-Founder of Millennium Promise. It is so exciting to be taking the support of so many from around the world with us.

Thank you for your commitment to Malawi and to this academy.

    With great excitement,
    Philippe.

Madonna (feat. Justin Timberlake) - Across The Sky
Produced by Timbaland & Danja (2008)

    I'm no stranger to deception
I have lied and been lied to
    I'm no paragon of virtue
But I wanna be with you

I have never been a righteous soul
    And I don't pretend I am
But I walk the line when I'm with you
Cause you make me believe I can

But we're running out of options
And we're running out of time
And I don't know if it's you or me
But it's time to speak your mind

Because I'm travelling across the sky
When you're with me, your hand in mine
Our honesty will make us fly
We'll be travelling across the sky

    Across the sky
    Across the sky
    Across the sky

I'm not good at keeping quiet
And I can't keep this tied down
But it's got to count for something
    That we're still hanging around

If you need an explanation for
What is false and what is true
Then I'd rather stop the world again
That I could not be with you

But we're running out of options
And we're running out of time
And I don't know if it's you or me
But it's time to speak your mind

Because I'm travelling across the sky
When you're with me, your hand in mine
Our honesty will make us fly
We'll be travelling across the sky

    Across the sky
    Across the sky
    Across the sky

    Travelling across the sky
    Travelling across the sky

The 25 years of collaboration between Madonna and French radio NRJ have come to an end. NRJ was considered as the "Madonna Radio' in France, they used to heavily promote her albums and singles except for the latest ones and they even boycotted her because she refused to attend the NRJ Music Awards back in 2003.

Another French radio, Fun Radio, issued a press release yesterday announcing they signed a partnership with Madonna and Warner France, from now on they will be the official Madonna radio in France, they will give her the promotional support the best selling female recording artist of all time deserves.

The Celebration remix featuring Akon is already on heavy rotation on Fun Radio and a Madonna online radio, ''Celebration Station by Fun Radio'', will be launched on december 7.
