  6. Fox Italia will air their new Madonna interview - called "Ciao Italia" - on Tuesday, November 17 at 10.45 PM. The interview was recorded at the Soho Hotel in London on October 21st as part of Madonna's new press junket to promote "Celebration".
  7. Madonna interview on the Italian ''Tu Style'' Madonna graces the cover of this week's issue of the Italian "Tu Style" magazine. The four page cover story inside is a translation of the article by Dan Cairns that originally appeared on the Sunday Times "Culture" supplement last month. Click to zoom.
  8. MadonnaTribe has heard and can report more news about the new fashion campaign that Madonna will shoot with photographer Steven Klein next month for the new Dolce & Gabbana campaign. The shooting date has now been set and it will take place on November 6th in New York City. Another fresh piece of news is about the campaign itself, because this will now be for the Women's Collection of the Italian designer duo.
  9. UK Press: Daily Mirror The Saturday edition of UK newspaper the Daily Mirror featured Madonna in the Fashion Insider column. Madonna is featured in the outfit she wore for dinner with Stella McCartney in London earlier this week.
  10. The singer Madonna is receiving a helping hand from ex-husband Guy Ritchie in casting an odd-sounding film about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson… Madonna has written the movie with Alek Keshishian, who directed the documentary Madonna: Truth Or Dare in 1991. W.E. is described as a romantic comedy about a woman called Wally Winthrop. The synopsis of W.E. states that Wally was ‘named for her grandmother’s passion’ and there are fantasy and flashback scenes involving Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson who, after the Abdication, were styled the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. There’s a lot of dialogue between the Duke and Duchess, but my guess is that the screenplay will be re-written before shooting commences next year. I’m presuming W.E. stands for Wallis and Edward. Other segments of the film have Wally Winthrop marrying a pediatrician. She then attends an event featuring items that belonged to the Duchess of Windsor where she finds herself falling for a security guard. Madonna has several meetings planned this week and next with various actors and actresses. She needs to cast a star name to help boost the budget. In this climate, Madonna’s name alone won’t guarantee a picture will be financed.
  11. “I love Liz Smith because she has big balls, like me!” Those were practically the very first words I ever heard, personally, out of Madonna’s mouth. I was at the 1990 New York premiere of Madonna’s highly entertaining documentary, Truth of Dare. I wasn’t covering it, exactly. I was there being interviewed by ABC’s “Primetime Live.” They were doing a segment on me. So, this event was an example of one of my “glamorous nights out.” And of course I was being pressed to speak to Madonna. I’d been writing about her exhaustively since 1984, so everybody assumed we were friends. In fact, I’d never clapped eyes on her. I told the ABC people, “Look, this is her premiere, I don’t think she wants to be part of my publicity!” Somehow Madonna was corralled into a corner where I stood with the film crew. We exchanged hellos. Then the producer asked Madonna what she thought of me. She answered with the quote above, and we parted, laughing. (It couldn’t really be used on the air.) So I had finally met this already legendary creature of music, video, and controversy. She was in a brunette phase, and looked gorgeous under a heavy coat of makeup. She was wearing a glittering Versace bodysuit, legs bare, bosom up and out. Yet in the brief moments I spent with her, I sensed her less a sexual provocateur and more like a little girl dressed up outrageously in Mama’s finery. She seemed nothing at all like her sometimes vulgar, deliberately inyour-face image. As the years went by, and I got to know her better, I found her a much more serious and far more vulnerable person than she ever lets on. But she has been determined, right from the start, to never beg her audience (or the media) for sympathy.

  15. With the release of the Celebration album and single and the coming release of the Sticky and Sweet tour on dvd it would seem logic for any artist to take a pause and enjoy the success but that doesn't happen to Madonna, who is working on more releases for her fans to enjoy. First of all there's Revolver, the second new track on her greatest hits album that, as previously reported by MadonnaTribe a while back, will be the second single release off the compilation. The news is that lots of remixers have been contacted to remix the song and among them we find Tracy Young, David Guetta and Paul Van Dyke. And Guetta will not only give his own treatment to the second single, because he's also working on a remix for Celebration together with Akon. But for die hard fans the most exciting news regarding her music is that for Christmas we'll also get brand new house remixes of two of her biggest classics: Holiday and Into The Groove! Meanwhile Madonna will also be busy with another fashion campaign. She will team up again with photographer Steven Klein next month for the new Dolce & Gabbana campaign, but the cool thing is that this time she will model not for the women's collection but for the men's! We are sure Madonna and Klein will come up with some great ideas for this one!
  16. Madonna doesn't think much of Paul McCartney's live performances. She tells Rolling Stone: 'People have told me, 'You could just go out there and play guitar and sing your songs like Paul McCartney,' but I'd be too bored. Most of the joy of the shows is the magic of creating them - theater. I'm a perfectionist. I like hard work. I like to sweat.' She also revealed that The Post's famous front page headlined, 'Madonna: I'm Not Ashamed,' published after her nude photos appeared in Playboy, was proudly hanging in her home after being turned into art by her friends Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. She said, 'They took all these Post covers and painted over them. They're in my house in LA - a signpost, a watershed moment.' She added that her Sticky & Sweet tour was the only thing that kept her sane during her painful divorce from Guy Ritchie: 'I think work saved me, and I'm grateful that I had work to do. I may have thrown myself off a building.'
  17. Madonna called in at KIIS FM for an interview with Ryan Seacrest, where she revealed some juicy details about her life, her music, and her future projects. Here are instead some highlights from the interview. Ryan: Are you single or are you dating someone? Madonna: I am dating R: How many people? M: One! Madonna had to play a game in which she had to guess her own song by listening to a short snippet. M: I get them all mixed up! M: I just finished writing a script and I'm trying to get finances and casting for it, believe it or not R: What's the film? M: It's called "We". It's a love story. Two parallel love stories, and it's told from a woman's point of view obviously. One is a historical story that took place with the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and the other is a story I made up of a couple in New York. M: I'm happy to be back in America, I'm happy to be living in New York. I feel good, I feel like I've adapted to my new life. R: What happened to the castle? (the manor she and Guy Ritchie bought in England while married) M: I had to give that away...Now I'm living in a shoe box in Central Park West. R: What has changed about your life? You kinda get to be a little bit more selfish? M: Mmm, I don't know, it's hard to be selfish with four kids. But I feel like I have more choice about where to go, about holidays and the fun hours. R: How is this gonna affect your music and stuff in the future? M: It's gonna get better 'cause I'm happier R: You did look sexy with that look last night (on David Letterman Show) M: How old are you? R: 34 M: What sign are you? R: Capricorn M: Honey you're kinda old for me! R: WHAT?? How young do you like? M: Well, you have to be old enough to dress yourself R: How does a younger guy make you happy? M: Younger people are generally more adventurous, they're more open, more fun. I mean, have you met any guys my age? They're either married or divorced, and like fat and bolding R: Do you like hot, young and low body fat? M: Yeah, I do M: It's 8.30 (am), this is my workout time, so I'm sacrificing my workout to talk to you. I hope you appreciate that. R: Your schedule is part of your job right? M: It is, my body is, you know, part of my job. If I'm not in good shape, then how can I dance around on stage with my butt hanging?! I look in the mirror and go "mmm, more work less cake." R: What really is the program? You're in the gym for two hours a day, is that true? M: Generally yeah, I am. Fortunately my gym is upstairs so I don't have to go very far and waste time travelling R: Does this Tracy Anderson train you? M: She used to. I try different workout programs. I take trainers with me when I travel and make sure that there's a gym in the hotel R: How many houses do you have? M: Three. One in London, one in New York, one in L.A. R: Are there boys in each house? M: WHAT DO YOU THINK I AM?? Don't confuse my professional image with my personal image. I'm a one-man woman. R: How many tracks are on your album? (the Celebration greatest hits) M: Are you asking me?! R: Do you know how many number one's you've got? M: No...I'm not a statistic person R: I was at your show. Did you know Jennifer Lopez was there? M: Yeah, I was getting like super sharp looks from her. Her pony tail distracted me. When an artist comes to see my show I always see they're studying me. They're watching in a different way. R: You saw what Kanye West did at the MTV Awards? M: Yeah, he's a bit impulsive. He needs to put a lid on it. R: And you gave a heartfelt speech M: It was my tribute to Michael Jackson. I was very clear about what I had to say. I was anxious for an opportunity to say it, even though Van Toffler (president of MTV U.S.) wasn't keen on me doing it, I think he was worried about my being too serious.
  18. Madonna and Lady Gaga got into the groove following their mock catfight on U.S. sketch show Saturday Night Live- with a dance-off in front of thrilled clubbers in New York City. The pair donned matching black lingerie and knee-high boots to stage a catfight as part of a TV comedy skit last weekend, with the feisty duo slinging insults at each other. And the pair couldn't resist teaming up again at a birthday party thrown for the Holiday hitmaker's manager Guy Oseary - taking to the dance-floor for a full-on battle at the Big Apple's Submercer club. A source tells New York gossip column PageSix, "(DJ) Jus Ske was joking around and alternating their songs Holiday and Poker Face, and then they both started going at it. "Madonna seemed to be the winner. People were going wild."
  19. Madonna has accepted substantial undisclosed damages for privacy and infringement of copyright over the Mail on Sunday’s publication of “purloined” photos of her wedding to Guy Ritchie. The singer, who has just completed her Sticky & Sweet world tour, was not at London’s High Court for the settlement of her action against Associated Newspapers. Her solicitor, John Kelly, told Mr Justice Peter Smith that she would be donating the damages to her Raising Malawi charity. Mr Kelly said that the star went to great pains to ensure that the December 2000 wedding was wholly private. But, in 2003, an interior designer, who was working on her home in Beverly Hills, surreptitiously copied at least 27 photos from the wedding album and provided them to Bonnie Robinson who, in June 2008, offered to sell them to the Mail on Sunday. Mr Kelly said that the newspaper did not purchase them at that time but waited until October 2008, when Madonna had announced that she was divorcing and there was huge media interest about her marriage, to purchase the purloined photos. Just three days after she had announced her divorce – and without any warning to Madonna – it published 10 of the photos. Associated Newspapers’ solicitor, Niri Shan, said that it accepted that it was wrong to act in this way and offered its sincere apologies to Madonna and her family for invading her privacy and infringing her copyright.

  23. Sep22 Chart Celebration ahead for Madonna Madonna is looking to equal Elvis Presley’s total of 11 UK album number ones this weekend with her new retrospective Celebration opening up a narrow lead at retail. The double set is presently a few thousand sales ahead of its nearest rival, fellow Warner Bros release The Resistance by Muse, which debuted at one last Sunday. If Celebration remains in front it will place Madonna in joint second place with Presley behind The Beatles with the most UK chart-topping albums. Her tally of 10 album number ones dates back to 1984’s Like A Virgin and also takes in the Evita soundtrack, which features both her and other artists. Madonna’s album leads another bumper week of new releases with four other newly-issued albums among the 10 biggest sellers of the week so far. These include Dizzee Rascal’s new Dirtee Skank-issued album Tongue N’ Cheek, which features his three number one singles, Casablanca/Island act Mika’s second album The Boy Who Knew Too Much and Pearl Jam’s Island debut Backspacer. source: musicweek
