When the news paper publishes the story, His career comes to an end facing a 10 year jail sentence. One of the lesbian girls is murdered in cold blood as her partner narrowly escapes death.
The three form an enduring bond to silently fight against the inhumane treatment of the homosexuals. The young journalist indeed succeeds in showing the world direction despite the repercussions of his actions.
Love on the run is an intense and brutal 20 minutes short film set in the present day, in a country where homosexuality is illegal. The film will capture that intensity and brutality– showing the world that death neither stringent laws will solve crime.
This short film will tackle some of the worst misfortunes that a Ugandan lesbian couple have lived to encounter.
The short film seeks for the respect and recognition of the human right of the minority. People regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, should be able to enjoy their human rights.
However, this country is one of the countries across the globe, with many instances where an individuals' sexual orientation or gender identity can lead them to face execution, imprisonment, torture, violence or discrimination. The range of abuse is limitless and it contravenes the fundamental tenets of international human rights law.
This cause is a matter of death and life please, do not cause an alarm about the film before it is done because this could hinder its making process. Matter of fact it could endanger the lives of those involved in the making. Homosexuality or promoting homosexuality is a crime in this country subject to a ten to fifteen year imprisonment sentence or being lynched people who hate the homosexuals.
There is no sole reason why one has to kill the other because of their differences sexual orientation.
