Taylor Swift had a shot at being named Artist of the Year for the second year in a row, but Lady Gaga got there first.

The editors of Billboard magazine gave the title to Gaga after songs from The Fame and The Fame Monster dominated the Billboard 200 albums and the Hot 100 singles. The two albums were also on the list for best releases of 2010, with The Fame ranking number four and The Fame Monster coming in at lucky number thirteen, but not even Gaga could rival the Britain’s Got Talent star, Susan Boyle, who snagged the number one slot with I Dreamed a Dream. She did, however, also manage to reach the one billion viewer mark on Youtube before Justin Bieber, too.

Boyle might have taken top honors on the ‘Best Releases’ list but she can’t touch Gaga when it comes to wax figures. With a variety of looks far too diverse to be immortalized in just one wax form, seven wax figures were unveiled around the world yesterday. You can check them out for yourself if you happen to be around Madame Tussaud’s in London, Amsterdam, New York, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Shanghai or Hong Kong.

Do you think Lady Gaga deserved the Artist of the Year award this year? How about seven wax figures? Seven? Really? Do I detect just a little bit of ego at play?
