Pop provocateur Lady Gaga released a few details about her upcoming 2011 album, Born This Way, on November 17 via Twitter.

"Endless melodies, hooks + poetry sledge-hammering my skull," Gaga tweeted about the album. "It won't be much longer, it's almost perfect. But I (we) don't want almost."

While Gaga has been performing new songs "Born This Way" and "You and I" live on tour, those in her inner circle have heard additional tracks. Rapper Akon, whose label Kon Live is involved with Gaga, told MTV that the new songs are better than those on Monster. "I've definitely heard [it], and what I can really tell you about it is the fact that I'm excited - and I'm hard to excite," he said. "If I was going to compare it to her previous work, I would definitely say it's a notch up. It's like she's slowly taking you on this journey down this road."

Gaga announced the title of the album, Born This Way, during her acceptance speech for the Video of the Year award at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. She is currently in the midst of her Monster Ball tour, which the singer describes as "the first-ever pop-electro opera" and which includes performances of music from her two albums, The Fame and The Fame Monster, which have sold well over 10 million copies worldwide. The international tour began in late 2009 and is scheduled to continue through 2011.
