The magic. http://madonnaradio.com/Instrumentals Madonna Instrumentals are magical, relaxing and incredibly fascinating, it's like catching a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes.
When Madonna hears music, it sparks an emotion and she starts writing.
One friend described instrumentals as the most closely held files for any artist. It's their essence, their signature. Dubs are songs i keep an ear our for, they're like an instrumentals with dabs of vocals, here and there, beautiful music. In my humble opinion, dubs are trance music of the purist sense. I do love trance music. There aren't many dubs out there, so each one generated is a little piece of cherished heaven.
The remix artists of today are like kids of Mozart. for instance, Achille's remixes, he describes his creations as 'experimental' and when listening to his use of instruments (yes, constantly rewinding seconds to see how he made it and figuring out what sounds are where), i'd say his experiments are successful, they gush genius.
Everyone knows what William Orbit did for Ray of Light, two versions of his ingenious Ray of Light instrumentals are playing in Madonna Radio, Currently, there are about 150+ instrumentals and dubs in this section of Madonna Radio. SJB is a constant artist in the instrumental section. His work is amazing and seems effortless. I got to see him work first hand in Montreal during Sticky & Sweet.
During the december holidays, i tend to play album versions in the main player, though, i believe instrumentals and dubs are the most relaxing. Relaxing is the whole idea for the month of december, your true self.
Anyway, the instrumentals behind Madonna's voice are just as magical as her vocal sounds. if i had to pick one dub, as an example of perfection, i couldn't... Hahaha... i'd pick Peter Rauhofer's "Impressive Instant" or Achille's "Over and Over".. not to mention Ornique's dub for "Intervention"... i can go on and on and on...
I'm not so great with creating videos but when i heard Peter Rauhofer's "Impressive Instant", I made a video, to the best of my ability. It's an experimental montage video from 2008 that i attempted to embed into this post but it won't stick. Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=258804008798
I stand for freedom of expression, doing what you believe in, and going after your dreams. - Madonna
-- What's going with Madonna today? She acquired a horse ranch in the hamptons and there's news about her new album. she's rumoured to be working with Brendan O'Brien & A-Trak. The New York Post says “this new incarnation of Madonna will be a blend of rock anthems, legit rap and funky club beats. Or in other words: pure brilliance.”
-- Side note: I'd love to have her acapellas ! When she tours, i'll tour Europe again. yay ! :-)
