  5. MARCIA K DEL VECCHIO August 19 , 1961 - June 16 , 1999 Marcia was coordinator of the Official Madonna Fan Club' and with her husband , Rob Del Vecchio, did a fantastic job. Her hard work and her love for Madonna leads us where we are today , Personally answering to thousands of letters from fans around the world before internet expansion (iven I have one!), coordinating contests and putting together all pieces, she will remain in our hearts forever for her devotion, love and positive attitude. Let's remember her today on August 19 , her birthday. Photo: madonnaweb.com
  6. U2 played their second of two concerts in London. The soundcheck featured two songs that have traditionally been paired together in U2's setlists, Until The End Of The World and New Year's Day. At some point on all four of the last tours, the former has come to immediately precede the latter in U2's setlists; it was rare on Vertigo, but on ZooTV, Popmart, and Elevation, it was a segue played often. Tonight, the pairing made its first 360° Tour setlist appearance, showing up early in the main set. Bad was played for the fourth time on this tour, while Stay showed up for its fifth tour performance. It looks like the movement of Desmond Tutu's speech to precede One rather than Streets has become a permanent change. U2 360° Tour 360° Tour 1st leg: Europe 2009-08-15: Wembley Stadium - London, England The full setlist was: Breathe No Line On The Horizon Get On Your Boots Magnificent Beautiful Day / London Bridge Is Falling Down (snippet) Until The End Of The World / Break On Through (snippet) New Year's Day I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For / Stand By Me (snippet) Stay (Faraway, So Close!) 7. The undisputed King of Rock and Roll music, Elvis Presley, still rules in the hearts of millions of his fans worldwide. What began as a fad in music in the 1960s, almost became the way the world loved to sing. On August 16, the music legend died at a young age of 42. But Elvis Presley quotes and songs have kept him alive in the hearts of his fans.

  10. Bulgaria's Council for Electronic Media decided to slap Darik Radio with a hefty fine for airing a recorded Madonna invitation to her fans in Bulgaria, because in the invitation, the pop-star spoke English, Sophia Echo reported. According to chapter 12 article 1 of the Radio and Television Act, all advertisement in foreign languages are forbidden, and so the commission has ordered Darik Radio to pay a penalty, the amount of which is expected to be in the range of 2000 to 15000 leva. Should the radio station repeat the broadcast, the fine will be doubled. The 10 second message from Madonna to her fans in Bulgaria said; "Hello Bulgaria, this is Madonna and I expect to see you at the August 29 show in Sofia in Vassil Levsli Stadium". A spokesperson for Sofia Music Enterprises, the Bulgarian organizers of Madonna's concert, said "this is normal procedure and it is used in all countries. Any time Madonna has a concert in a country, she records a message for her fans, and it is always in English. There is no way that an exception will be made just for us." Konstantin Vulkov, program manager of Darik Radio said the station "apologizes that Madonna is not proficient in Bulgarian." Darik Radio will have to stop the offensive broadcast, unless Madonna brushes up on her Bulgarian. Source : Bucharest Herald
