John 'Jellybean' Benitez who produced Madonna's early hit Holiday is facing a$10 million lawsuit over royalties from that song. Benitez offered the song toMadonna back in 1983 when she was recording her self-titled debut album and it went on to become her first hit single.Jellybean is facing legal action from executives at the Spirit One Music group, who allege he has reneged on an agreement to split the proceeds with them. The lawsuit, filed at Manhattan Supreme Court in New York, states Benitez has been responsible for handing out the royalties, but alleges he has failed to hand over a massive $10 million to Spirit One. The suit seeks $10 million in allegedly unpaid royalties, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix.
