BURLESQUE!

Growing up in the 1980s I was inundated with Cher films, and to this day I have a special place in my movie going heart for Mask and Moonstruck, two films that helped me get through high school. It’s 2010, however, and it’s great to see Cher in front of the camera once again, even if it’s as a supporting player in Burlesque. This time out, the iconic diva plays Tess, the owner of a Los Angeles club called The Burlesque Lounge, a struggling establishment which employs a golden voiced waitress named Ali (Christina Aguilera). Cher had only kind words to say about working with Aguilera, and click on the media bar to hear her thoughts on the entertainer (Cher also mentions co-star Stanley Tucci in the clip).
Stanley Tucci also chimed in on the challenges Aguilera faced as the main star of Burlesque.
As for her thoughts on fellow diva Lady Gaga, Cher also had words of support. “I like her and I think she’s…first of all she’s a great singer and I also think she is having fun with this,” said Cher, who was a pretty good sport as she held Lady Gaga’s meat purse during this year’s Video Music Awards. “She’s having a great time and being outrageous and getting to do what she wants. I think that’s great and courageous. And that’s what artists should do. Artists should do weird things.”
Burlesque, which also stars Grey’s Anatomy hunk Eric Dane, Kristen Bell, and Julianne Hough, opens nationwide November 24th.
