Grum: “I love Lucky Star and Borderline”
by ZaCK, www.absolumentmadonna.fr
UK’s Electro/Dance Producer Grum listed Madonna’s First Album amongst his very favorite albums, in the last issue of UK music magazine Mixmag.
Here’s what he had to say… www.absolumentmadonna.fr
MADONNA - Madonna (WARNER)
Madonna has been around for a long time now, so it’s good to go back to the start and hear how she sounded in 1983. And guess what? This album is so much fun! It manages to be dancey while having a real pop shine to it. The old-skool analogue synths, drum machines and production from John ‘Jellybean’ Benitez just sound so warm to me. The whole vibe of this album is something I’ve really tried to incorporate into my work. This record really said to me that you can make accessible dance music while still staying (or trying to stay!) ‘cool’. I particularly love ‘Lucky Star’ and ‘Borderline’.
Watch the video for Grum’s great new single, ‘Can’t Shake This Feeling’, which was directed by The General Assembly and produced by Townhall.
