(RTTNews) - Elton John, who performed with Lady Gaga at the Grammy Awards ceremony earlier this year, will be reunited with the pop star once again when the two team up to headline the Rainforest Fund's 21st Birthday Concert Gala on May 13 at New York's Carnegie Hall.
Other performers for the benefit include Dame Shirley Bassey and Sting. The concert will be followed by a gala dinner with surprise guests, live music and a silent auction to benefit the Rainforest Fund.
Trudie Styler, wife of Sting and co-founder of the Rainforest Fund, told Billboard that Gaga is "such a great young woman," and expressed her gratitude to the pop star for taking a break from her European tour to perform at the event.
"Sting, Elton and Gaga will play together, and the boys will be performing with Dame Shirley, doing a great rendition of 'Hey Big Spender,'" she said.
The Rainforest Fund was founded by Sting and Styler in 1989 after they received a direct request from a Kayapo Indian leader in Brazil who sought to protect the area's land and culture. Since 1989, the Fund has protected more than 115,000 square kilometers of forest.
