Madonna's Brother Wants to Replace Simon Cowell

Christopher Ciccone, the estranged brother of pop star Madonna, hopes to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol. Ciccone, who once served as Madonna’s assistant, backup dancer and artistic director, tells Page Six he would bring credibility to the show.

“I think I can bring a particular kind of credibility to the show,” he says. “I’d be the only person sitting at the table who actually created a pop star from the beginning, and helped keep her there for 20 years.”

Cowell is leaving American Idol after season 9 wraps later this year. He plans to launch his talent show, The X Factor
