Contrary to what has been announced by Europa Corp in previous years, Madonna is not returning as Princess Selenia in the second installment of Luc Besson's Arthur saga.

The second chapter, due out in cinemas in December 2009, will not see the return of the original cast as previously announced. Hannah Montana co-star Selena Gomez will debut as Selenia while Lou Reed will step into David Bowie's shoes as the evil Maltazard.

Selena Gomez is probably the right teen actress to make the animated character appealing to the US teens but on the other hand it's a pity for us that Madonna won't be able to finish the great job she has started on the character with the first film.
