Daily Mail on Madonna ''Duchess'' movie

The singer Madonna is receiving a helping hand from ex-husband Guy Ritchie in casting an odd-sounding film about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. Ritchie looked over the screenplay for the movie - called W.E. - and suggested his former wife seek meetings with several well-respected actors such as Mark Strong and Toby Kebbell, who both had major roles in Ritchie's last film, RocknRolla. Madonna has written the movie with Alek Keshishian, who directed the egomaniacal performer in the documentary Ma

W.E. is not a musical, Liz says

People.com reports about Madonna gearing up to direct her second film - this time about the woman who never would be queen - with a few extra quotes about the Validator herself. "It's still in the early stages," Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg tells People about the movie, which will chronicle how King Edward VIII turned in his crown in 1936 to marry the twice-married American socialite Wallis Simpson. The screenplay, which Madonna, 51, wrote, "is about two intermingling love stories -

Madonna on the cover of the Australian Big Issue

Madonna graces the cover of the latest Australian The Big Issue magazine dated 20 Oct - 2 Nov 2009 (No. 340). The magazine's cover story is about... covers and Madonna only gets a small snippet at the beginning of the article where her American Pie rendition is being discussed - and not particularly praised.

The Ultimate Madonna Article by Liz Smith

"I love Liz Smith because she has big balls, like me!" Those were practically the very first words I ever heard, personally, out of Madonna’s mouth. I was at the 1990 New York premiere of Madonna’s highly entertaining documentary, "Truth or Dare." I wasn’t covering it, exactly. I was there being interviewed by ABC’s "Primetime Live." They were doing a segment on me. So this event was an example of one of my "glamorous nights out." And of course I was being pressed to speak to Madonna. I’d been

Madonna for Dolce & Gabbana menswear?

Oh come on! She’s not that muscular! News reaches Grazia that Madonna is to star in the new Dolce & Gabbana campaign. So far, so cool....only apparently it’s Dolce’s menswear label. It’s not clear if Madonna will be dragging up, although in the past she has looked fierce in some of their androgynous pin-striped trousers suits. Thing is, we can’t really imagine Madge (yes, we know she hates that name now) settling for just being some male model’s arm-candy....unless that model happens to be h
