Celebration Pt1: My take on "Madonna - the album"

The Celebration compilation CD is coming out soon, so I thought it would be cool to post my take on every Madonna album thats been released. Thats why Part 1 is: "Madonna" - the album I love the album as a whole, these days I consider it to be too short with just 8 songs even though 3 tracks are over the 6 minute mark I think, but with her latest albums havin 11 to 14 tracks it does make a difference. Erotica

Erotica goes back and forth with Bedtime Stories as my favorite Madonna album.  To me when this album came out it was so different from anything she has ever done.  It sounded real stripped down almost like playing a vinyl record, just like the opening of the song Erotica had surface noise of putting the needle on the vinyl.  To me this album has really stood the test of time, my favorite tracks are Erotica, Words, Rain, Waiting, Bad Girl, Deeper and Deeper, Thief of Hearts and Bye Bye Baby.  Th

Courgettes, blood-sucking insects and paint

As I write my face is deflating - an hour ago I looked as though I had an egg on the side of my forehead and my eye was closed. This is what you get for growing courgettes in a garden inhabited by every malicious and hungry insect known to man. If it pinches, bites or sucks blood it lives outside our back door.
